Yokota Air Base in western Tokyo hosts the Yokota passenger terminal, which official AMC pages call the "Gateway to the Far East." The 730th Air Mobility Squadron runs this AMC INDOPACOM terminal. The host 374th Airlift Wing provides PACAF airlift from Fussa and neighboring cities in the Tokyo metropolis. Space-A flights here are Pacific airlift from AMC's Tokyo-area passenger terminal, distinct from Kadena, Misawa, Iwakuni, and Atsugi.

Where is the passenger terminal?

730 AMS Passenger Terminal, 80 Airlift Ave, Yokota AB, Japan 96326.

GPS that Airlift Avenue address, not a generic “Yokota Air Base” pin. The terminal sits on base. There is no published terminal map URL on the AMC page.

How do I get on base / which gate should I use?

On the live AMC Yokota page and on the official Yokota Base Community page (both indexed 27 Aug 2026):

  • West Gate / Terminal Gate: open 24/7
  • Fussa Gate: 0600–0100 every day; 0600–2200 on U.S. holidays and Family Days

Gate hours are subject to change; Yokota SFS tells travelers to check the AF Connect app. CAC / DoD ID holders use a vehicle-access gate. Visitors without CAC or dependent ID need visitor-pass processing at the Visitor’s Center (Yokota Base Community page: Mon–Fri 1500–2200; weekends / U.S. holidays / Family Days 0800–2200). Do not assume Fussa is open after 0100.

What are hours, phone, DSN, and email?

Hours (official AMC page): 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, and evenings on nights of departures (0600–2000 plus departure nights). Workbook hours match.

The CONUS string is printed that way on the official page; the Japan landline 042-552-2510 plus DSN extension is the cleaner local format. 011-81-3117-55-7111 is the directory/operator-style line (unofficial spacea.net also treats 7111 as a recording). Use the terminal-page numbers first. Directory 7111 vs page 5661/5662 is a flagged conflict, not a second quietly preferred commercial.

Do not publish AMC directory DSN (315) as a commercial number. (312) is CONUS DSN and is not a Yokota commercial.

How do I sign up for Space-A?

Email 730ams.org@us.af.mil, or use the HQ AMC Space-A email form and select Yokota AB Japan. Yokota is on the 40-location form list.

HQ AMC does not process sign-up; the terminal does. The AMC form warns that the terminal may not receive the email because of technical issues. Print the completed form or your confirmation and bring it. AMC also announced a Travel Self-Signup Tool for AMC locations — use whichever channel the live AMC Space-A page is pointing to the day you sign up.

How and when do I mark present?

The AMC Yokota page does not print a separate “mark present” window. Remote email sign-up is not “present.” Be at the Passenger Service Counter for the roll-call time on that day’s 72-Hour Schedule. Have passports, orders, pet paperwork, and all bags with you.

When is roll call?

2 hours and 20 minutes prior to departure, unless the 72-hour schedule says otherwise.

Verify the exact NLT and roll-call times on the 72-Hour Schedule icon on the AMC Yokota page. The 72-hour board is updated each day by 8 p.m. JST. All flights can change or delay without notice.

When should duty / PE passengers check in?

Early-bird check-in is 1800–2000 the day prior to your departure date (duty / TMO-SATO booked PCS, TDY, deployment). Bring at least two copies of PCS/TDY orders and travel documents in person. The page warns: if you arrive without proper documents, you will be denied travel.

Show with all bags. Exact PE NLT is on the 72-hour remarks, not as a second standing clock on the HTML.

Does this terminal operate Patriot Express flights? If yes, to where?

Yes. The live AMC page states: “Our flights serve bases in Japan, Korea, Guam, and West Coast United States.” That is a region list, not this week’s board.

The on-page 30-day PE product is titled Monthly Schedule 2024.pdf. Do not treat the 2024 PE product as current. Historically that dated PDF listed Diego Garcia, Osan, Paya Lebar, Sea-Tac, Iwakuni, and Kadena — useful only as a sense of the old rotator pattern. The AMC PE Gram (Winter 2023) quick link is likewise dated. Check the live 72-hour icon. Do not plan a hop from a 2024 PDF or a blog rumor.

Where is short-term and long-term parking, max days, and pass rules?

Not published on the official AMC Yokota page. Unofficial Space-A writeups are not verification. Ask the Passenger Service Counter; do not invent a long-term lot or a day cap.

What lodging is nearby on-base and off-base?

On base (official AF Inns page only, checked 27 Aug 2026):

The AF Inns property title is Yokota AB, not a marketing inn name. A 09 Feb 2023 Yokota AMC Gram (dated) still says “Kanto Lodge”; do not treat that pamphlet as the current lodging brand.

Off-base: Not published on the AMC terminal page or the AF Inns property page. Do not paste a hotel list from unofficial blogs.

Is there a USO, food, Wi-Fi, showers, lockers?

In the AMC terminal (official page): complimentary Wi-Fi; Family Lounge; Nursery; Distinguished Visitor Lounge; most vending takes yen (sandwich machines USD only); outbound lounge has temporary AAFES food service (major U.S. cards and cash). Car rental is no longer located in the terminal (Aug 2025 Wayback / live page). Business Lounge / AAFES eatery were described as still being set up on an older `/1000/` subpage — treat that as possibly stale versus the main page. Lockers and showers are not published on the AMC page.

USO Yokota (official USO Japan): Bldg 327, Yujo Community Center — not inside the AMC terminal. https://japan.uso.org/yokota Hours on that page: Mon–Sat 1000–2200 (evening/weekend hours volunteer-dependent); closed Sundays. Do not treat Yujo hours as terminal hold-room hours.

What documents are required?

Duty / space-required: At least two paper copies of PCS/TDY orders plus travel documents in person.

Space-A: Eligibility under DoDI 4515.13, plus passports/visas as required by destination, and Foreign Clearance Guide / Force Health Protection rules. Bring your sign-up confirmation.

Japan leave / unofficial travel: As of 1 June 2023 FCG language quoted on the AMC page, DoD personnel need a regular (blue tourist) passport to enter Japan on leave. Exception printed on the page: U.S. military personnel on leave returning to their unit of assignment in Japan may travel on military ID and travel orders. Regular blue passport is still required for civilian personnel returning to Japan. Unofficial travel in conjunction with official overseas assignments: obtain a blue tourist passport at your own expense before leaving CONUS (FCG quote on the page).

Japanese citizens departing: stamp out at Government of Japan Immigration no earlier than 24 hours prior to the date of travel. GOJ Immigration hours on the page: 0500–2200 every day. Use the page’s GOJ Stamp Information quick link.

Have passports, orders, and pet paperwork on your person, not packed in a checked bag.

What are baggage limits and Space-A/PE fees if published?

Bags (AMC Yokota page): 2 checked bags per person, 70 lb and 62 linear inches each. One carry-on plus one personal item that fits under the seat.

Fees: The live Yokota HTML does not print a Space-A head tax. Do not import another terminal’s dollar figure.

Can I travel with pets from here?

The page documents in-cabin kennel rules (AMC pet pamphlet): one in-cabin pet space per ticketed traveler, not more than two pets per family; container not to exceed 18" L × 11" W × 10½" H, must fit under the seat. HQ AMC Pet Travel page: PE pet movement is PCS status only, booked through TMO/ITO, owner’s expense, first-come. Space-A pet space is not something the Yokota HTML promises. Where are schedules posted?

On the official AMC Yokota page icons, not Facebook (no terminal Facebook schedule on the official page):

  • 30-day / PE schedule — the file still in the library is Monthly Schedule 2024.pdf (dated — not current)

Which gate should I use for a late-night PE?

West / Terminal Gate is 24/7. Fussa is 0600–0100 (shorter on holidays/Family Days). Do not trust an old “all gates 24 hours” blurb.

Is Fukuoka the same as Yokota?

No. The live AMC directory lists Fukuoka, Japan as its own contact (730 AMS CATO). That listing is a HOLD identity in the research workbook. Do not merge Fukuoka sign-up or phones with this Yokota terminal.

Do I need two paper copies of orders?

Yes for duty travel. The banner says you will be denied travel without proper documents in person.

Is there still a car-rental desk in the terminal?

No on the current main AMC page (“car rental services are no longer located within the terminal”). An older `/1000/` subpage still mentioned a kiosk — treat the main page as winning.

Can Japanese-passport travelers stamp out at the AMC counter?

The page sends Japanese citizens to Government of Japan Immigration (0500–2200 daily), not earlier than 24 hours before travel. Ask Passenger Service for directions; use the GOJ quick link.

What about the 2024 30-day PE PDF listing Sea-Tac / Diego Garcia / Osan?

Dated. Do not build a 2026 itinerary on it. Use the live 72-hour.

Does AF Inns run a shuttle to the terminal?

Yes, per the official Yokota AF Inns additional-information block: free shuttle to/from the AMC terminal. Confirm hours with lodging; they are not printed as a clock on that page.

Are vending machines USD or yen?

Most vending yen only. Sandwich machines USD only. AAFES outbound food: U.S. cards and cash.

Is Wi-Fi only in a USO?

No. The AMC page lists complimentary Wi-Fi in the terminal. The USO is in Yujo Bldg 327, not the AMC hold room.

DSN 225-7111 vs 225-5661 — which is the counter?

The terminal page prints 225-5661/5662. 7111 appears on the AMC directory (and unofficial leads as a recording). Flagged conflict. Start with 5661/5662.

Can I drink my own alcohol on the AMC flight?

The page quotes FAA/AMC policy: passengers may not drink alcohol onboard unless the air carrier serves it.

Do I need a blue tourist passport if I am military returning to my Japan unit on leave?

The page’s printed exception: U.S. military on leave returning to their unit of assignment in Japan may travel on military ID and travel orders. Civilians returning to Japan still need the blue passport. Confirm the live FCG; the page’s “as of 1 June 2023” stamp is the quote, not a promise FCG never changes.
