Where is the passenger terminal?

Wright Patterson Passenger Terminal, 5291 Skeel Ave, Dayton, OH 45433.

Workbook address matches. GPS 5291 Skeel Ave, not a generic “Wright-Patt” or museum pin. On base (Area A side of the installation). The fact sheet does not publish a terminal-map URL or a building number. Unofficial “Bldg 206” writeups are flagged unofficial.

How do I get on base / which gate should I use?

The Space-A fact sheet does not name a passenger gate. Use official Gate Information — Area A / Area B (Wayback 2026id_ + live search 27 Aug 2026) and the Pass & Registration fact sheet.

Area A (Skeel Ave / AFMC HQ side — most relevant for the terminal address):

  • Gate 12A (AFMC HQ Gate): 24/7
  • Gate 1A (Commissary Gate): 6 a.m.–7 p.m. (days not printed on the Area A hours line)
  • Gate 15A (SR 844 Gate): Monday–Friday 6 a.m.–6 p.m.
  • Gate 26A: Commercial traffic only, Monday–Friday 6 a.m.–2 p.m. — not the Space-A POV gate.

Area B:

  • Gate 22B (I-675 Gate): 24/7. 0600–0900 inbound only.
  • Gate 1B (Springfield Street) and Gate 19B (National Road): 6 a.m.–6 p.m. (Area B page does not print days on those two lines).

CAC / DoD ID holders use Gate 12A (24/7) for Area A. A weekend/holiday Space-A show when Pass & Registration is closed is a planning problem if you do not already have access — process at the published after-hours gate with the sponsor as the Pass & Registration page instructs.

How do I sign up for Space-A?

88 ABW fact sheet (page wins):

1. Email Sign-Up: submit the required personal information to WPAFB_SPACEA@US.AF.MIL. Required fields printed on the page: First/Middle/Last names, DODID number, email, rank/grade, service branch, military status, names of dependent travelers, total seats required, travel eligibility status, leave dates, overseas travel-ready status (documents in-hand), destination(s) (up to five). 2. Manual: AMC Form 140 to the desired AMC passenger terminal. 3. Automated AMC registration form: the fact sheet still links the HQ form and warns technical difficulties with automated confirmation emails — print the completed form before Submit as proof of date/time of sign-up.

Note (fact sheet): Do not provide PII such as Social Security numbers. Use DODID as printed.

445 AW page also points at takeahop.com. That site is unofficial (FIN/leads-only). Do not treat Take a Hop as the official WPAFB sign-up. Use WPAFB_SPACEA@US.AF.MIL / the fact sheet.

HQ AMC does not process this location. The 40-location form does not list Wright-Patterson. The March 2026 AMC self-signup tool is described as live for AMC locations; WPAFB is Non-AMC CONUS — do not assume GATES-SEA covers the 88 ABW desk. Print confirmation. This FAQ did not call or email.

How and when do I mark present?

Fact sheet “Checking In”: check in at the terminal counter to mark yourself present and review updated flight information. Remote email is not presence. Have documents and bags; do not exceed baggage weight limits. Await the Space-A call and follow passenger-service-agent instructions.

When is roll call?

Not published as a standing URL or “N hours prior” product. Fact sheet: contact the terminal for the 72-hour flight schedule (flight times and check-in times). Seat availability identified anywhere from 3–4 hours to as close as 1 hour before departure — that is a seat-release window, not a roll-call clock.

Conflict with 445 AW: 445 AW prints seats identified as early as 3–4 hours and as late as 30 minutes prior, and says check with the passenger service center for that flight’s show time. 88 ABW fact sheet wins (1 hour, not 30 minutes). Confirm show time with the desk/recording. A 2018 wpafb.af.mil news item mentioning roll call “several hours before takeoff” is dated news, not a product URL.

Do not quote live seats.

When should duty / PE passengers check in?

Not published as a separate PE 24-hour / duty-NLT clock. Use the published counter hours and the 72-hour recording / desk for that mission’s check-in time. This fact sheet does not advertise Patriot Express.

Does this terminal operate Patriot Express flights? If yes, to where?

Not published as a PE gateway. No 30-day PE icon. A 2018 88 LRS feature contrasted PE (coastal, airport tax) with Wright-Patt organic hops — dated, not a 2026 route list. Do not plan a rotator from WPAFB from a blog. This FAQ does not quote live seats.

What documents are required?

Fact sheet: passports with visas as required; customs/immigration change — contact the departure terminal. Sign-up uses DODID (not SSN). Space-A: DoDI 4515.13 categories I–VI are printed on the fact sheet and the 445 AW page. Have documents on your person. No local CAT-V letter template on the fact sheet.

What are baggage limits and Space-A/PE fees if published?

Bags (88 ABW fact sheet): 2 checked bags; 70 lb per bag; not traveling with prohibited items. Linear-inch limit not printed on this fact sheet. Do not copy another terminal’s 62-inch line.

PE Space-A fee: Not published (not a PE gateway).

Can I travel with pets from here?

Why does AMC list (937) 257-6235 as the commercial number?

That is the flight recording. The desk is (937) 257-7741. Call 6235 for the board; call 7741 during office hours.

1 hour or 30 minutes before departure?

Conflict. 88 ABW: seats identified 3–4 hours to as close as 1 hour. 445 AW: as late as 30 minutes and “check show time before you leave the terminal.” Fact sheet wins; still confirm with the desk. Do not treat either line as today’s seat count.

Does 445 AW run a separate terminal?

No. 445 AW: 88 ABW runs the Space-A traveler program. Same desk, same recording.

Can I sign up on takeahop.com?

Which gate for a 2200 Saturday inbound?

Counter is closed weekends except inbound/outbound flights. Gate 12A is 24/7. Pass & Registration is closed weekends — after-hours visitor processing is Gate 12A / 19B per the Pass & Registration page, with the sponsor as published. Confirm with the desk that the mission is actually operating.

Is Gate 22B usable 0600–0900?

Inbound only in that window (Area B page). Do not plan an outbound POV exit via 22B at 0700.

Is this a Patriot Express terminal?

No on the current fact sheet.

AF Inns DSN 787-3451 vs AMC DSN 257-6235?

Different switches. Lodging is 787-3451. Recording DSN subscriber on AMC is 257-6235. Never dial 312 from a cell.

Fact sheet says Last updated July 2024 — is it dead?

Direct *.mil fetch 403 is not gone. Live search 27 Aug 2026 still matches hours/7741/6235/WPAFB_SPACEA. Re-open the live URL the night before.

Newcomers FAQ says there is no dedicated base shuttle — but AF Inns lists Shuttle Service?

Both official; different things. Newcomers: no dedicated installation shuttle (POV/carpool/some off-base bus). AF Inns: property shuttle amenity. Space-A fact sheet lists neither as a terminal courtesy van.
