Official Welcome pages place the wing on that joint civil-military airfield. The 185th Logistics Readiness Squadron Air Transportation Function processes passengers here. This is a western Iowa tanker-wing desk, not Offutt Air Force Base.

Where is the passenger terminal?

185th LRS / Air Transportation Function, 2920 HQ Ave, Sioux City, IA 51111.

Workbook address matches. GPS Bldg 254 for roll call, not a generic Sioux Gateway commercial-terminal pin. On the ANG ramp at Sioux Gateway (KSUX). The Space-A HTML does not publish a terminal-map URL.

How do I get on base / which gate should I use?

The Space-A page does not print gate names or gate hours. Welcome/homepage Security Forces 712-233-0780. Photo captions of a “main gate” are not a clock. Travelers coordinate any travel on or off base; no transportation provided beyond the Passenger Terminal (same page also says transport can be provided to the airport for car rental or taxi/rideshare only — conflict below). Confirm access with the Passenger Service Center 712-233-0420 / hotline 712-233-0220 before you drive. This FAQ did not call.

What are hours, phone, DSN, and email?

Hours (official page — wins;): Tuesday–Friday, 0700–1530 (contact block: 07:00 am – 15:30 pm Tuesday – Friday). Not Monday. Not 24 hours. Welcome text also says the terminal processes passengers during normal duty hours 0700 to 1530 (days named in the early-check-in / contact blocks as Tue–Fri). Limited support by personnel availability. A later sentence: the terminal is only manned during Space-Required and Space-Available missions — print that with the Tue–Fri clock; do not silently drop either.

How do I sign up for Space-A?

Email 185.arw.space.a@us.af.mil (also print 185ARW.LGRDA.SpaceA@us.af.mil) or stop in the office. Forms: AMC Form 140 and DD Form 1853 (page: right-click/save if the 140 link says “Please Wait”).

By status (official page):

  • AGRs: AMC Form 140 + AF Form 988 (leave)
  • Technician / Traditional: AMC Form 140 + DD 1853
  • Retirees: AMC Form 140

Sioux City is not on the HQ AMC 40-location form. HQ AMC does not process sign-up. Submit forms well in advance and notify travel intent — not a 24-hour terminal. Print the sent mail. This FAQ did not call or email.

How and when do I mark present?

The page does not use the phrase “mark present.” Flight check-in and roll call are at the passenger terminal front desk (Bldg. 254). Remote email is not presence. All passengers must arrive movement ready. Call the hotline before leaving for mission-status / time changes.

When is roll call?

At the Bldg. 254 front desk, 3 hours prior to departure.

After-hours / weekend intent — same page prints two clocks; do not silently merge:

1. Early-check-in procedures apply to check-in outside normal duty hours. You are not required to call ahead if roll call is Tue–Fri 0700–1530 Central. 2. If you want Space-A on flights with roll call after duty hours, or anytime on weekends and holidays, notify intent NLT 1530 on the duty day prior (may be adjusted on the 24–72 hour schedule / hotline). 3. Separately: roll call 1500 to 0700, Tuesday through Friday, or any time Saturday–Monday, notify intent NLT 1530 on the last duty day prior.

Flag: duty hours end 1530, but rule 3 starts at 1500 — a 30-minute overlap with the “no call-ahead” Tue–Fri window. Confirm that mission on 712-233-0220 / 712-233-0420 / 185.arw.space.a@us.af.mil. Intent: call 712-233-0420 or DSN 585-0420, or email, with destination and date.

When should duty / PE passengers check in?

Duty: must have a physical copy of current travel orders for AMC to keep. Passengers who are not movement ready may be denied travel. Not published as a PE 24-hour check-in (this is not a PE gateway). Use the 3-hour Bldg. 254 roll call and the Tue–Fri 0700–1530 window unless the hotline says otherwise.

Does this terminal operate Patriot Express flights? If yes, to where?

No. The 185th ARW does not have channel missions or regularly scheduled flights. Destinations: limited — contact the terminal; the HTML does not print a route list. Future Space-A missions released 24–72 hours in advance to the public on the hotline. CAC holders may see availability up to 30 days out on 185th ARW SharePoint — not usable by most retirees without CAC/SharePoint access (workbook advisory). This FAQ does not quote live seats.

Where is short-term and long-term parking, max days, and pass rules?

Long-term parking is north of the Civil Engineering Building. Transportation to and from long-term parking to the passenger terminal upon request. Drop-off, bags, and parking are otherwise the traveler’s to coordinate. Max days: not published — do not invent one.

On-page transport conflict — print both:

  • Terminal Services: transport on request lot ↔ terminal; no transportation provided beyond the Passenger Terminal; traveler coordinates on/off-base travel.
  • Same block: Transportation can be provided to the airport for car rental or taxi/rideshare service only. Rental cars: Sioux City Airport website (page does not print the URL here).
What lodging is nearby on-base and off-base?

On base: none. Official Space-A page: “There is no base lodging and the terminal is not manned 24/7. Travelers will need to set up lodging accordingly in Sioux City as well as transportation to and from the base.” Air Force Inns directory (27 Aug 2026) has no Sioux City ANGB / 185 ARW property. Not published.

Homepage / Welcome conflict: directory lines Lodging 712-233-0347 (Welcome and 185th ARW homepage). Official terminal page wins: no base lodging. Do not advertise 0347 as Space-A billeting.

Off-base: “in Sioux City” — no hotel names or rates on the HTML.

Is there a USO, food, Wi-Fi, showers, lockers?

Official: “There is no Wi-Fi or other common services like those found in USO facilities.” Lost-and-found: Passenger Service Representative. Showers/lockers/snacks not published.

What documents are required?

All passengers: movement ready. DoD ID cards must be valid. Passports must be valid for at least 3 months beyond departure date. Space-A: physical copy of leave paperwork, DD 1853, Space-A travel letter, and/or EML. Duty: physical copy of current travel orders for AMC to keep. Eligibility: DoDI 4515.13 and FCG. Unsure: Passenger Service Center 712-233-0420.

What are baggage limits and Space-A/PE fees if published?

Official page:

  • 2 bags per individual, 70 pounds max each, not to exceed 62 linear inches
  • One carry-on plus one personal item that must fit under any aircraft seat
  • Further restrictions may apply; TSA guidelines apply

Prohibited examples printed: defense sprays (mace, pepper spray); explosives; firearms; flammable liquids; household bleach/aerosols/insecticides; alcoholic beverages over 140 proof; fertilizers. Federal crime to transport unauthorized weapons/explosives/hazmat on AMC aircraft.

Is the terminal open Monday?

Not in the printed Tuesday–Friday 0700–1530 window. Saturday–Monday after-hours intent rules still exist for missions — that is not a Monday walk-in clock. Not 24 hours.

Do I call ahead for a 1000 Tuesday roll call?

Official: not required if roll call is Tue–Fri 0700–1530 Central. Still call the hotline before you leave.

NLT 1530 or 1500 for after-hours intent?

Same page prints both. After duty hours / weekends / holidays → NLT 1530 duty day prior. Separate sentence: roll call 1500–0700 Tue–Fri or any time Sat–Mon → NLT 1530 last duty day prior. Flag the 1500 vs 1530 overlap. Use PSC 0420 / signup email for that mission.

Where exactly is roll call?

Bldg. 254 front desk, 3 hours prior — not Bldg. 280 Rm 502 (that is the ATF office).

Can retirees see the 30-day SharePoint board?

CAC card holders only, on 185th ARW SharePoint. Workbook: not usable by most retirees without access. Public channel is the hotline.

Is 712-233-0347 lodging?

Welcome/homepage directory lists Lodging 712-233-0347. Space-A page: no base lodging. Terminal page wins. Do not plan a room from 0347.

Will they drive me to a hotel?

Official: no transportation beyond the Passenger Terminal, except the same page’s airport rental/taxi/rideshare only line. Do not silently pick. You set up Sioux City lodging and rides.
