Official AMC pages list Scott as an ATF, not a full aerial-port hub. The same installation hosts Air Mobility Command headquarters, the Air Force air component of U.S. Transportation Command. Where is the passenger terminal?

Scott AFB Air Transportation Function (ATF) Passenger Terminal, 220 Heritage Drive, Bldg P8, Scott AFB, IL 62225.

Workbook street matches. Local Travel Information adds Building P8, about 20 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri, near Belleville, Illinois. On base. The AMC page does not publish a terminal-map URL.

How do I get on base / which gate should I use?

The AMC Scott page does not print gate names or gate hours.

From scott.af.mil Dixon Visitor Center (search-indexed official page, 27 Aug 2026; direct fetch 403):

  • Hours conflict on official Scott pages — confirm before you show: DVC page search text includes both Mon–Sat 6 a.m.–6 p.m. and Sat 8 a.m.–3 p.m. / Sun closed. A Trusted Traveler-suspension article on the same site printed Monday–Sunday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. An older Security Forces FAQ printed Monday–Friday 6 a.m.–6 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m.–12 p.m., closed Sundays/holidays. Do not invent a single clock from that mix.
  • When DVC is closed, Shiloh Gate (main gate) may issue short-term passes up to 72 hours.
  • Scott Pass (PIN lanes at Shiloh / School Gate turnstile / Lincoln’s Landing) is for CAC, retiree, dependent, and military ID holders who registered. Marked Scott Pass lanes: Mon–Fri 9 a.m.–9 p.m.; Sat–Sun 6 a.m.–9 p.m. Non-registered users are turned around in those lanes while yellow lights are on.

CAC / DoD ID holders use an open vehicle-access gate. A Saturday Space-A show without a pass is a planning problem if DVC is closed.

What are hours, phone, DSN, and email?

Hours (AMC page — print this even though the workbook is blank): There is no daily 0800–1600 clock on the terminal page. Heading says Monday–Friday, then: due to local mission requirements, the terminal is ONLY open on days with projected roll calls. Passenger Service Counter opens 30 minutes prior to the projected roll call. The terminal is only manned during Space-Required and Space-Available missions.

Workbook hours were empty. Official page wins. Unofficial “0800–1600 every day” directories are not verification.

Commercial phone: not printed on the AMC Scott HTML contact block (address + email only). Workbook phone was blank — leave unpublished as a terminal-page number.

Directory-only (not on the AMC HTML contact block): AMC Space-A directory lists Comm (618) 256-3017 / 1854 and DSN (312) 576-3017 / 1854. A 4 Feb 2025 scott.af.mil news article also printed (618) 256-3017 and warned the PAX counter is not always manned; emailing is the best way to get in contact. Do not publish (312) as commercial. Do not treat the directory pair as printed on the terminal HTML.

How do I sign up for Space-A?

Three methods on the AMC Scott page:

1. HQ AMC Space-A email form (select Scott AFB IL). 2. Scan the QR code at the bottom of the Contact Information panel. 3. Email scott.spacea@us.af.mil with: Email Address, Rank/Grade, Name, Branch of Service, Military Status, Name(s) of Dependent Travelers, Total Seat(s) Required, Travel Eligibility Status, Leave Dates, Overseas Travel-ready Status, Destination(s).

HQ AMC does not process sign-up. Print confirmation. Active-duty members MUST be on leave status to sign up (page reminder).

How and when do I mark present?

Arrive prior to roll call so you can be marked “Present” at the Passenger Service Counter. Remote email/QR sign-up is not presence. The counter opens only 30 minutes before projected roll call on mission days — do not expect an all-day hold room.

When is roll call?

2 hours and 30 minutes prior to departure at the Passenger Service Counter, unless the current 72-hour product says otherwise.

When should duty / PE passengers check in?

Duty / Space-R: Passenger Service Counter opens for check-in 2 hours prior to departure. Be in line NLT 1 hour 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure. Late arrivals go to Customer Service for re-booking, or as PCS orders instruct.

No PE-specific 24-hour check-in clock (no 30-day PE icon).

Does this terminal operate Patriot Express flights? If yes, to where?

Not published as a PE gateway. Icons on the 16 Jun 2026 capture are 72-hour and roll-call (plus a Scott-June 2024.pdf file). No 30-day PE PDF. Do not plan a PE hop from Scott from a blog. This FAQ does not quote live seats.

Where is short-term and long-term parking, max days, and pass rules?

Long-term parking is available for a period not to exceed two weeks (AMC Local Travel Information). Short-term vs long-term lots, passes, and overnight rules beyond that sentence are not printed. Do not invent a garage from unofficial sites.

What lodging is nearby on-base and off-base?

AMC HTML does not name lodging.

Is there a USO, food, Wi-Fi, showers, lockers?

Not published on the AMC Scott HTML. No USO center page for this passenger terminal was verified. Do not plan showers, lockers, or a snack bar. The terminal may be locked except around roll call.

What documents are required?

Duty: Travel orders at the Passenger Service Counter.

Space-A: DoDI 4515.13 eligibility (page cites Section 4, Paragraph 4.1.a. on no guaranteed onward/return travel — bring commercial-ticket money). Active duty must be on leave. Children under 10 without ID cards: passport or the child’s DoD ID number from milConnect (AFI 24-605 V2 para 2.25.3 on the page). Have documents on your person.

What are baggage limits and Space-A/PE fees if published?

Default (AMC Scott page): 2 bags per person, 70 lb and 62 linear inches each (length + width + height). One carry-on plus one personal item that must fit under any aircraft seat, not to exceed 45 linear inches.

Scott-specific aircraft limits on the same page:

  • C-21: (1) carry-on, not to exceed 30 lb
  • C-40: (2) checked bags, not to exceed 50 lb per bag
  • C-5, C-17, KC-135, and C-130: (2) checked bags, not to exceed 70 lb per bag

Ask the agent for that tail. Fees: not published (no PE head tax).

Can I travel with pets from here?

Stamp conflict: live WebSearch snippets of the same AMC URL on 27 Aug 2026 still showed “current as of 13 May 2026 1500L.” Treat both dates as stale. Open whatever PDF the live 72-hour icon points to today.

Mission allowing, the 72-hour forecast is updated every duty day (Mon–Fri) NLT 1630L. Unofficial “terminal Facebook = 72-hour board” listings are not used as verification. AMC HQ Facebook in the footer is not a Scott board. All flights subject to change without prior notice.

Are there posted 0800–1600 counter hours?

Not on the AMC HTML. Only roll-call days, counter 30 minutes prior. Unofficial 0800–1600 every day is a conflict — ignore it.

Why is there no phone on this FAQ’s contact block?

Is the June 2024 PDF the AMC Gram?

Filename Scott-June 2024.pdf is dated 2024. Do not treat it as a current Gram.

12 June vs 13 May “current as of” stamp?

Wayback 16 Jun 2026 had 12 June 2026 1140L. 27 Aug 2026 live snippets still showed 13 May 2026 1500L. Neither is a 27 Aug board. Refresh the icon.

C-21 vs C-17 bags?

C-21: one carry-on, 30 lb. C-5/C-17/KC-135/C-130: 2×70. C-40: 2×50. Personal item 45 linear inches is printed here (many terminals omit that).

Can I wait in the terminal all afternoon?

Counter opens 30 minutes before roll call on mission days. The page does not say the building is a lounge on non-mission weekdays.

Is long-term parking 14 days or 60?

AMC: not to exceed two weeks. Unofficial longer figures are not used.

Must active duty be on leave to even sign up?

Yes on this HTML.

Duty NLT 1h30m but Space-A roll call 2h30m?

Yes. Duty check-in window starts 2 hours prior, NLT 1h30m. Space-A roll call is 2h30m prior. Be present for your clock.

DVC Saturday 6 a.m. or 8 a.m.?

Official Scott pages disagree. Confirm with DVC 618-256-2008. Shiloh Gate can issue up to 72-hour passes when DVC is closed.

Is Scott a Patriot Express gateway?

No on the AMC page (no 30-day PE icon).

Building P8 vs 220 Heritage Drive vs 460 West Winters?

Terminal: 220 Heritage Drive, Bldg P8. AF Inns: 460 West Winters Street. Do not GPS lodging and call it the PAX terminal.
