Nellis Air Force Base, northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada, handles Space-A flights as an Air Transportation Function. The 99th Air Base Wing hosts the installation and supports the 2.9 million-acre Nevada Test and Training Range. Graduate-level U.S. Air Force Weapons School courses and Red Flag exercises fly from this southern Nevada field. This is not Creech Air Force Base and not an AMC coastal gateway.

How do I get on base / which gate should I use?

The Space-A SOP does not print gate names. Use installation access pages. Gate and VCC clocks conflict across official Nellis pages — print all; do not silently pick.

Trusted Traveler conflict — dated news vs leftover Base-Entry tabs: nellis.af.mil article 28 Feb 2026: 99 ABW suspended the Trusted Traveler program effective immediately; anyone without base access needs a valid visitor pass and sponsor. After-hours/weekend passes maximum 72 hours at the Range Gate (hospital side). Base-Entry HTML still describes Trusted Traveler as a working access type. Print both. Do not assume TTP still works. Confirm on the live Base-Entry / news pages before you roll up with a carload of guests.

REAL ID (or listed alternative) required for visitors. In-person pass: sponsor and visitor both at the VCC. Pre-approved pass: 3–5 business days. VCC can issue passes up to three days official / up to 14 days visitation (Base-Entry). CAC / DoD ID holders use an open vehicle-access gate. A weekend Space-A show without a pass is a planning problem if VCC is closed and TTP is suspended.

How do I sign up for Space-A?

SOP: travelers departing Nellis can sign up two ways: e-mail or in person.

Email: include a copy of AMC Form 140. If you cannot access Form 140, the request must include name(s) of sponsor and dependents, rank, number of seats required, and up to five desired destinations. Send to SPACE-A.signup@us.af.mil. HQ AMC does not process sign-up. Print the sent mail. Nellis is not on the 40-location form.

In person: Building 809.

Call 702-652-2562 for the next 72 hours of flights (not a signup substitute for presence).

How and when do I mark present?

The SOP does not use “mark present.” Email sign-up is not presence. Be at Bldg 809 with documents. After hours / Sunday: directory says the 2562 line is everyday 7 a.m.–4 p.m.; SOP Customer Service is weekdays. Do not assume a Sunday roll-call desk from the SOP clock.

When is roll call?

Not published as an “N hours prior” clock, PDF, or product URL on the SOP, Resources list, or Phone Directory. Call (702) 652-2562 for the 72-hour outlook. Do not invent a 3-hour counter.

When should duty / PE passengers check in?

Not published as a PE/duty NLT. This is not a published Patriot Express gateway. Use published Customer Service / flight-information clocks. Official overseas travel is 652-5757, not Space-A.

Does this terminal operate Patriot Express flights? If yes, to where?

Not published. SOP does not print “Patriot Express” or a 30-day PE board. 30-day schedule: Not Applicable for this small Non-AMC terminal. Organic leftovers only. This FAQ does not quote live seats.

Where is short-term and long-term parking, max days, and pass rules?

Not published on the Space-A SOP. Do not invent max days. Unofficial “park at Bldg 809” lines are flagged unofficial.

Not published on the Space-A SOP as terminal amenities. Do not copy unofficial snack/shower lists.

What documents are required?

Space-A: DoDI 4515.13 eligibility. SOP email signup: AMC Form 140 or sponsor/dependent names, rank, seats, up to five destinations. Have documents on your person. Installation access still needs REAL ID (or listed alternative) if you are a visitor.

What are baggage limits and Space-A/PE fees if published?

Not published on the Nellis Space-A SOP (no 70 lb / 62 in reprint, no PE head tax). See AMC Travel Site general rules; do not invent a local fee. SOP: bring sufficient funds to complete the journey or return home if Space-A does not move you.

Can I travel with pets from here?

Which number is Space-A — 2562, 6737, or 5757?

2562 = 72-hour / Space-A Flight Information. 6737 = Customer Service desk on the SOP. 5757 = Official overseas travel, not Space-A.

Is Bldg 809 still current?

Yes on the live-indexed official SOP (6155 McGough Parkway, Building 809). Prior “indexed now-404” hedge is dropped.

Is the Recreation URL 404?

Not on 27 Aug 2026. Resources still lists it. Direct 403 ≠ 404.

Does Trusted Traveler still work?

Official-page conflict. 28 Feb 2026 news: suspended. Base-Entry still describes TTP. Do not assume TTP. After hours, the news article points to Range Gate, max 72-hour passes.

Which VCC clock?

Print all three (7:30–4:30 Base-Entry, 6–6 directory, 6:30–4:30 news). Base-Entry is the access page; still flagged.

Is Gate 215 open?

Base-Entry: 215 and Hollywood are CLOSED. Directory still prints 215 hours. Do not silently pick. Do not plan on 215.

Landings 24/7?

Directory 24/7 vs Base-Entry Monday–Friday 5:30 a.m.–9 p.m. Flagged. Main and Range Road are 24/7 on both.

Can I dial (312) 682-2562 from a cell?

No. 312 is DSN, not commercial. Call (702) 652-2562.
