Official station pages operate a passenger terminal that supports 3d Marine Aircraft Wing and visiting aircraft among Navy and Marine installations in southwestern California. This desk is the station passenger terminal, not the Distribution Management Office that books official commercial travel, and it is distinct from NAS North Island on Coronado.

Where is the passenger terminal?

Building 9100, MCAS Miramar. Workbook address matches. Official PAXandHOTELS.pdf: Bldg 9100 is the PAX/Passenger Terminal on Talbot Ave (left as you turn onto Talbot). GPS Bldg 9100, not NAS North Island / KNZY and not SAN’s civil terminals. Official page links PAX Terminal map and directions.

Unofficial directories that pin “Talbot Ave, Bldg 9100” match the PDF; they are still not the verification source — official page + PDF win.

How do I get on base / which gate should I use?

Official PAXandHOTELS.pdf (linked from the Space-A page) prints driving directions from North Gate (Miramar Road), East Gate / Main Gate (I-15 / Kearny Villa Rd), and West Gate (Miramar Rd nearest I-5), all ending at Talbot Ave / Bldg 9100.

If you do not have a DoD or military ID: enter through the East Gate for a visitor’s pass. Required: driver’s license, vehicle registration, proof of insurance.

East Gate Visitors Pass Hours (PDF): 0500–Midnight Daily. If you need a pass outside those hours, the PDF sends you to the North Gate.

The Space-A HTML itself does not reprint gate clocks. CAC / DoD ID holders use an open vehicle-access gate. A Saturday show is a planning problem: the PAX desk is closed Saturday and holidays. Confirm with (858) 307-4283 before you drive. This FAQ did not call.

What are hours, phone, DSN, and email?

Hours (official Space-A page — wins; still on the page 27 Aug 2026): Mon–Thu 0730–1900, Fri 0730–1700, Sat and Holidays closed, Sun 1400–1700. Workbook hours were blank; advisory already stored Saturday/holiday closed and Sunday limited hours. Wayback 13 Jun 2026 matches live index 27 Aug 2026.

How and when do I mark present?

The page does not use “mark present.” Remote fax / phone is not presence. Be in person at Bldg 9100, travel-ready, with documents and bags. Official reminder: seats are not known until the aircraft has touched down.

When is roll call?

Not published as a standing “N hours prior” and no roll-call PDF URL. Seats unknown until aircraft arrival (quoted SOP). Call (858) 307-4283. This FAQ does not quote live showtimes. Unofficial “lounge opens two hours before departure” (militaryliving.com) is not verification.

When should duty / PE passengers check in?

Not published as a separate PE/duty NLT (this is not a PE gateway). Duty/PCS still work through orders / TMO / DMO — do not mix that with the Space-A PAX 4283. Official-travel offices on unofficial directories (SATO / Official Travel Bldg 2258) are not this counter.

Does this terminal operate Patriot Express flights? If yes, to where?

No. No 30-day PE icon. Organic / visiting-aircraft leftover seats. Unofficial “Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Washington, California” destination lists are not a rotator. This FAQ does not quote live seats.

Where is short-term and long-term parking, max days, and pass rules?

Not published as a max-days / permit product on the Space-A HTML. The PDF is driving directions, not a parking-duration SOP. Max days: not published — do not invent one. Ground transportation (taxi/shuttle) is not published on the Space-A HTML.

What lodging is nearby on-base and off-base?

On base (Inns of the Corps / Marine Lodge official only, checked 27 Aug 2026):

No nightly rates here. PDF “Hotel A is on the Air Station, ID Card Required.”

Off-base: official PAXandHOTELS.pdf lists commercial hotels (California Suites, Ramada Kearny Mesa, Holiday Inn North Miramar, etc.) as an area list — not Inns of the Corps, no rates copied here, and the PDF is an undated directions packet. Confirm current properties yourself.

Is there a USO, food, Wi-Fi, showers, lockers?

Not published on the Space-A HTML. PDF prohibitions (no balloons, no alcohol, no pets at PAX) are restrictions, not an amenities list. Unofficial vending / Subway / baby-changing writeups are not verification.

What documents are required?

Duty / space-required: orders and destination documents on your person.

Space-A: DoDI 4515.13 eligibility. Official page quotes DoD 4515.13-R C6.1.9: no guaranteed space; have funds for commercial return. Visitor-pass travelers: REAL ID-capable driver’s license + registration + insurance at East Gate. Do not pack passports in a checked bag.

What are baggage limits and Space-A/PE fees if published?

Not published as a local bag-count / weight table on the Space-A HTML. Do not copy another terminal’s 2×70 lb or a PE head tax. Confirm with (858) 307-4283 before you pack overweight.

Can I travel with pets from here?

PAXandHOTELS.pdf: NO PETS at the PAX terminal (with no balloons / no alcohol). That is a building restriction, not a published aircraft pet-slot policy. Space-A HTML does not add a pet-on-aircraft rule. Do not assume a pet space. See the AMC Pet Travel page. This FAQ did not call.

Is this the same as NAS North Island?

No. NASNI is a Navy terminal on Coronado ((619) 545-9567 / 9531). Miramar is MCAS Bldg 9100, (858) 307-4283. Do not mix phones or inns (Navy Lodge / NGIS vs Inns of the Corps).

Is Sunday really open if Saturday is closed?

Yes, on the official HTML still captured 13 Jun 2026 and indexed 27 Aug 2026: Sun 1400–1700. Sat and holidays closed. Recheck the live page before a Sunday show.

Can I roll up at 0330 with no CAC?

East Gate visitor pass is 0500–midnight. Outside that window the PDF sends you to North Gate. PAX itself is closed Saturday/holidays and does not open until 0730 weekdays / 1400 Sunday. A 0330 Saturday show is a planning failure.

Does “seats unknown until touchdown” mean I should skip Miramar?

It is standing SOP, not a live “zero seats today” quote. Still be present and travel-ready. This FAQ does not quote availability.

Inns of the Corps or Marine Lodge?

Two official properties. IOTC Bldg 2515 / 271-7111; Marine Lodge Schilt Ave / 338-1130. PDF “Hotel A” is the Inn. No rates. No tonight availability.

Is 858-307-1011 the terminal?

No. Installation directory assistance.

Can I use the HQ AMC 40-location form?

No row for MCAS Miramar. Fax/phone/in person.

Pets in the terminal lounge?
