Official AMC pages name the 6th Logistics Readiness Squadron ATF in Tampa, Florida, not a standing full-service passenger terminal. Official MacDill fact sheets place U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command on the same waterfront installation, with the 6th Air Refueling Wing as host unit.

Where is the passenger terminal?

AMC MacDill AFB Air Transportation Function, 8119 Marina Bay Dr, Tampa, FL 33621.

GPS Marina Bay Dr on MacDill, not a generic “MacDill AFB” or Dale Mabry Gate pin. On base. The AMC page does not publish a terminal-map URL.

How do I get on base / which gate should I use?

The AMC MacDill ATF page does not print gate names or gate hours.

From macdill.af.mil Visitor Access + Gate Operation Information fact sheet (search-indexed official pages; direct fetch 403 on 27 Aug 2026):

  • Dale Mabry Gate: open 24 hours / 7 days. After-hours visitor passes issued here only.
  • Visitor Control Center (Dale Mabry Gate): (813) 828-2737. Mon–Fri 6 a.m.–6 p.m.; Sat 8 a.m.–4 p.m.; Sun 9 a.m.–3 p.m.; closed holidays.
  • Bayshore Gate: Mon–Fri 5:15 a.m.–6:30 p.m. Weekend conflict on the same fact-sheet family: one indexed copy lists Sat–Sun 7 a.m.–6:30 p.m.; another lists Sat–Sun Closed. Do not invent. Use Dale Mabry if Bayshore might be shut.
  • Tanker Way Gate (Port Tampa commercial): POV Mon–Fri 6 a.m.–9 a.m. Commercial hours changed effective 26 June 2026 (MacDill Weekly Bulletin) to 0600–1400 commercial only; after that, commercial uses Dale Mabry. Not your Space-A POV gate.
  • MacDill Gate: inbound only Mon–Fri 6 a.m.–8 a.m.; outbound only Mon–Fri 3 p.m.–5 p.m.

VCC parking lot (Bldg 1089, adjacent to Dale Mabry): 1-hour limit; towing at owner’s expense (Florida S.S. 316.1945 / installation policy).

CAC / DoD ID holders use an open vehicle-access gate. Visitors: REAL ID registration at the VCC during VCC hours; sponsors submit subsequent requests at least three duty days before arrival (Visitor Access page). A weekend/holiday show when VCC is closed is a planning problem if you do not already have a pass. After hours, Dale Mabry is the published pass point. Gate times change for security/maintenance; confirm with VCC.

What are hours, phone, DSN, and email?

Official duty hours (AMC page): 0730–1600 Monday–Friday.

Space-A hours (AMC page): 0900–1500 Monday–Friday.

Workbook lead listed only 0900–1500 M–F (the Space-A window). The page also prints duty hours 0730–1600 M–F. Use the page. Weekend/holiday Space-A desk is not in those published clocks (see roll-call notice below).

Do not publish AMC (312) as commercial. MacDill commercial is 813. Unofficial “24-hour recording (813) 828-2310” appears on base-directory listings — not on the AMC ATF page; not used here.

How do I sign up for Space-A?

The MacDill ATF is no longer accepting walk-ins for Space-Available sign-ups or information. Call (813) 828-2440 to make an appointment or for Space-A questions.

You may also use the HQ AMC Space-A email form and select MacDill AFB FL, or email SpaceA2@us.af.mil. HQ AMC does not process sign-up. Print confirmation. If you get no confirmation, use the appointment line — do not assume a walk-up will be seen.

How and when do I mark present?

Remote email/form sign-up is not presence. Roll call is at the AMC ticket counter. The page recommends arriving about one or two hours prior to roll call (it cites medical screening) so there is time to process.

Because walk-ins for sign-up/info are closed, do not treat “show up and ask” as the plan. Have the appointment / confirmation, documents, and bags.

When is roll call?

Typically 3 hours prior to departure at the AMC ticket counter, unless the 72-hour schedule says otherwise.

Manning notice on the AMC page: Roll-call will no longer be held outside of duty hours (Monday–Friday 0730–1600). A weekend or after-1600 show time on the 72-hour board is not a promise a Space-A roll call will be staffed. Confirm with the counter.

The 72-hour schedule “will be updated with the most accurate information when flights are available for Space-A.” All flights can change without notice.

When should duty / PE passengers check in?

Duty (orders): Check in at the terminal counter 6 hours prior to departure. Be in line NLT 3 hours 20 minutes prior to scheduled departure.

This ATF does not publish PE-specific check-in clocks (not a PE gateway on the AMC page).

Does this terminal operate Patriot Express flights? If yes, to where?

No PE gateway language on the AMC MacDill ATF page. The page is titled Air Transportation Function, describes leftover seats when missions and cargo loads allow, and hosts a 72-hour board — not a 30-day PE PDF in the live snippets. Do not plan a rotator/PE hop from MacDill from a blog. Organic tanker/airlift destinations (if any this week) are on the live 72-hour PDF only. This FAQ does not quote live seats.

Where is short-term and long-term parking, max days, and pass rules?

AMC page:

  • Long-term: 7 days or greater
  • Short-term: up to 6 days
  • All vehicles must have a parking pass left on the dash with contact information

The page does not print row numbers, RV rules, or a tow/citation clause. Get the pass from the ATF; do not invent a marina lot from unofficial writeups.

What lodging is nearby on-base and off-base?

On base (Air Force Inns, checked 27 Aug 2026): MacDill AFB lodging, 7637 Bayshore Blvd, Bldg. 350, MacDill AFB, FL 33621. Main 813-828-4259; DSN 968-4259; Fax 813-828-2660. Toll-free 1-888-AF-LODGE (CONUS). The AMC ATF page does not print walking distance to Bldg 350.

Off-base: Not listed on the AMC HTML page. No nightly rates published here.

Is there a USO, food, Wi-Fi, showers, lockers?

The AMC MacDill ATF page does not document a terminal USO, grill, Wi-Fi, showers, or lockers. Do not copy unofficial amenity hours. Unofficial “no base shuttle” lines on base-directory pages are flagged unofficial (not used as verification).

What documents are required?

Duty / space-required: Travel orders. Be in line NLT 3 hours 20 minutes prior.

Space-A: Eligibility under DoDI 4515.13. The page’s privilege banner: no guarantee of transportation; be prepared to cover commercial tickets if Space-A changes or disappears; reservations will not be accepted for Space-A.

Have ID, orders, passports/visas as required, and pet paperwork on your person.

What are baggage limits and Space-A/PE fees if published?

Bags (AMC page): 2 bags per person, 70 lb and 62 linear inches each. One carry-on plus one personal item that must fit under any aircraft seat.

Fees: Not published on the AMC MacDill ATF HTML. No PE head-tax line (consistent with not being a PE gateway).

Can I travel with pets from here?

Not published as a local pet program on the AMC ATF page. HQ AMC Pet Travel is about Patriot Express / PCS pet bookings via the transportation office — that is not a MacDill ATF pet-slot promise. Ask the counter before you count on a pet space on an organic mission.

Where are schedules posted?

On the official AMC MacDill ATF page: a 72-hour flight schedule that the terminal says it updates when Space-A flights are available. HQ AMC form includes MacDill AFB FL. There is no terminal Facebook schedule cited on the AMC page. All flights are subject to change. Recheck the 72-hour board; do not treat a blank board as “no missions forever.”

Is this a full passenger gateway?

No. Official title is Air Transportation Function. Space-A is privilege leftover on 6th LRS missions when cargo allows. It is not advertised as a PE rotator station.

Can I walk in and sign up?

No. Call (813) 828-2440 for an appointment. Walk-ins for Space-A sign-up or information are closed.

Will there be a Saturday roll call?

Not under the published manning rule: roll call is not held outside Mon–Fri 0730–1600. Confirm if a 72-hour line still shows a weekend time.

Which gate if I am a retiree without a current pass?

Plan Dale Mabry (24/7) and the VCC during VCC hours. Bayshore weekend status conflicts across indexed copies of the gate fact sheet. Do not assume Bayshore is open Sunday.

Is AF Inns next to Marina Bay Dr?

AF Inns is 7637 Bayshore Blvd, Bldg 350. ATF is 8119 Marina Bay Dr. The AMC page does not print a walking time. GPS both.

Workbook says hours 0900–1500 M–F. Is the desk closed at 0730?

Duty hours start 0730. Space-A advertised window is 0900–1500. Use the page, not the workbook-only Space-A line.

Is (813) 828-2310 the recording?

Not on the AMC ATF page. Unofficial directories list it. Use (813) 828-2440 from the official page.

Can I park six days without a dash pass?

No. Short-term is up to 6 days and every vehicle needs a pass on the dash with contact info. Long-term is 7 days or more.

Does MacDill publish PE fees or a 30-day board?

No on the ATF HTML / live snippets.

Are pets on the KC-135 leftover seats?

Not published. Do not plan it from a blog.

VCC 1-hour parking — can I leave the car there during roll call?

No. VCC lot is 1-hour customer parking at Dale Mabry Gate, towed after that. It is not ATF long-term parking.

Closed federal holidays?

VCC is closed holidays. ATF published hours are M–F duty/Space-A clocks with no holiday exception printed on the AMC page. Confirm with the counter before a Monday holiday trip.
