Space-A flights at Kirtland Air Force Base use the joint-use airfield shared with Albuquerque International Sunport in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The 377th Logistics Readiness Squadron ATOC is the published passenger contact, not the Traffic Management Office passenger-travel desk. The 377th Air Base Wing, Air Force Global Strike Command, hosts the base and more than 100 mission partners, including the 58th Special Operations Wing. Civil and military traffic share the same runways. This is an air transportation function, not an AMC-operated gateway.

Where is the passenger terminal?

Not published. No AMC `/Terminals/` page, no kirtland.af.mil PAX SOP, and the live AMC row does not name a passenger-terminal building or street.

Do not GPS Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) or a generic “Kirtland AFB” pin as the Space-A counter. Workbook coordinates are the KABQ airport reference point (shared civil/military airfield), not a terminal-building survey. Official 19 Sep 2023 Kirtland phone-directory PDF lists 377 LRS/LGRDA Air Terminal/PAX Movement as a phone-book line only (no building). Unofficial “ask at the Sunport” listings are flagged unofficial.

How do I get on base / which gate should I use?

There is no PAX-terminal page to print a passenger gate. From official kirtland.af.mil Gate Hours and Family Days (search-indexed 27 Aug 2026; direct fetch 403):

  • Eubank — 24/7
  • Truman — 24/7 with Visitor Control Center
  • Maxwell (Kirtland gate, not Maxwell AFB, AL) — 24/7
  • Wyoming — weekdays 5:30–9 a.m. inbound/outbound; 3:30–5:30 p.m. outbound ONLY; weekends closed
  • Carlisle — weekdays 5:30–9 a.m. inbound/outbound; 3:30–5:30 p.m. outbound ONLY
  • Gibson — 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily
  • Contractor — 5:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays (commercial traffic arriving outside those hours must go to Truman Gate for searching)
  • South Valley — permanently closed

Truman Visitors Center (homepage, 27 Aug 2026): for base access and visitor passes call 505-853-0397. 377th SFG page: Truman Visitor Center Hours: 24 hours / seven days a week; phone 853-0397.

VCC phone conflict — do not silently pick: homepage / 377th SFG 505-853-0397. Dated 19 Sep 2023 Kirtland phone-directory PDF lists VCC: Truman 846-6429. Treat 846-6429 as a dated directory line, not the current homepage number.

Do not merge 377th SFG “Hours: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday to Friday” onto Truman VCC. That 8 a.m.–3 p.m. block sits on the same SFG page as other offices; VHIC/caregiver enrollment on a dated veterans trifold is 6 a.m.–3 p.m. Monday–Friday at Truman VCC — that is enrollment, not a reason to overwrite the gate fact sheet’s Truman 24/7 with VCC.

A 2011 “Gate hours to change” feature (Gibson/Truman continuously, Wyoming 5:30 a.m.–7 p.m., Eubank 5 a.m.–midnight) is stale vs the current Gate Hours fact sheet.

CAC / DoD ID holders use an open vehicle-access gate. Visitors without a current pass: Truman VCC. Gate hours are not Space-A counter hours.

Is “Maxwell Gate” Maxwell AFB, Alabama?

No. Maxwell on the Kirtland gate fact sheet is a Kirtland AFB gate, open 24/7. Maxwell AFB, AL is a different terminal.

Contractor / oversize after 1500?

Gate fact sheet: commercial traffic outside Contractor 0530–1500 weekdays must go to Truman for searching.
