Joint Base Lindsey Graham in South Carolina is the East Coast home of Space-A flights on an Air Mobility Command C-17 wing. The installation was redesignated Joint Base Lindsey Graham in August 2026 and the passenger mission did not move. The 437th Aerial Port Squadron runs the AMC passenger terminal. Official 437th Airlift Wing pages say the wing flies one of the largest C-17 Globemaster III fleets in the Air Force. This South Carolina airfield is not Yeager ANGB in West Virginia.

Where is the passenger terminal?

437th Aerial Port Squadron, Joint Base Lindsey Graham. Official mailing line on the AMC directory: Joint Base Charleston SC 29404.

The AMC page does not print a street number. The January 2025 AMC Gram names it Charles L. Shaub Passenger Terminal. The official long-term-parking news item refers to Building 164 (PAX Terminal). Navigate to Joint Base Lindsey Graham, Building 164 / Charles L. Shaub Passenger Terminal, near 32.8986, -80.0403. Do not use the Navy Weapons Station and do not use the civilian airport passenger terminal (they sit next to each other; they are not the same counter).

No public terminal-map URL is printed on the AMC page.

How do I get on base / which gate should I use?

On-base. CAC / DoD ID holders use an Air Base vehicle-access gate.

The AMC terminal page does not print gate hours. The January 2025 AMC Gram lists:

A 2020 installation fact sheet printed VCC hours Monday–Friday 0700–1600 (Air Base VCC numbers in a 2020 visitor-policy article: 843-963-7807 / 843-963-6158). Those hours are dated. REAL ID (or other accepted ID / U.S. passport) is required for visitor vetting. Do not assume a 0500 Saturday walk-up pass.

Name/signage: follow current Joint Base Lindsey Graham installation signs.

Hours: 0600–2200, 7 days a week.

Conflicts:

  • The page banner says contact the Passenger Service Center “24/7 at 843-963-3083” while hours of operation are 0600–2200. The recording line is the 24-hour product. Do not expect a full counter at 0300.
  • January 2025 Gram also lists (843) 963-3048 as a second Passenger Service Center number (directory on some AMC test pages listed 3048 / 3083). Live AMC directory (27 Aug 2026) prints (843) 963-3083 only. Terminal page 3083 wins; 3048 is Gram-dated.
How do I sign up for Space-A?

Email 437APS.SpaceA@us.af.mil (page: include name(s) of sponsor and all dependents, phone, email, rank and service affiliation, number of seats required, and five desired countries). Do not send SSN, passport numbers, or dates of birth.

Or use the HQ AMC Space-A email form and Self-Signup Tool. Select Joint Base Lindsey Graham when the form lists it. HQ AMC does not process sign-up. Print confirmation and bring it.

How and when do I mark present?

The Joint Base Lindsey Graham AMC page does not print a 24-hour mark-present window. It does say arrive 30 minutes prior to roll call to ensure travel-document accuracy.

Remote sign-up is not “present.” Have orders, passports, and bags with you.

When is roll call?

At the AMC ticket counter, 2 hours 20 minutes prior to aircraft departure, unless the 72-hour schedule says otherwise. Recommended: 30 minutes before that roll-call time.

When should duty / PE passengers check in?

Duty: Passenger Service Counters open 6 hours prior to departure. Be in line NLT 3 hours 20 minutes prior to scheduled departure. Late arrivals go to Customer Service for rebooking (or as PCS orders instruct).

The Joint Base Lindsey Graham page does not publish a PE-specific “1800 the day before” rule. If a PE mission is on the 72-hour board, use the times printed there.

Does this terminal operate Patriot Express flights? If yes, to where?

The AMC page does not label missions as Patriot Express. It does say primary Space-A destinations by passenger count are Ramstein AB, Germany and Joint Base Andrews, MD, plus periodic missions worldwide. Frequency and destinations change; missions are mission-driven.

Where is short-term and long-term parking, max days, and pass rules?

Official commander’s-call article (installation supplement 31-218):

  • Long-term lots are generally reserved for active-duty personnel who are deployed, TDY, or on leave
  • Register at Building 164 (PAX Terminal)
  • There is a long-term lot in front of the Air Base passenger terminal
  • Passenger vehicles and motorcycles only, maintained (no flats, no broken glass, no expired registration)
  • Cannot exceed 370 days
  • No boats, travel trailers, storage trailers, RVs, or campers in the PAX lot (RV storage is FSS lots)
  • Abandoned-vehicle notices: remove within 72 hours or possible tow at owner’s expense

Short-term row numbers and a 72-hour “across from the terminal” cap appear only on unofficial sites — not used as verification. Use the registration PDF and the counter.

Is there a USO, food, Wi-Fi, showers, lockers?

The AMC page does not document a USO, food, Wi-Fi, showers, or lockers. Treat them as unpublished. Historic articles describe a USO mobile canteen visiting the area because the city “doesn’t have a USO” — that is not a terminal lounge.

What documents are required?

Duty / space-required: Travel orders; 6-hour check-in / NLT 3+20.

Space-A: DoDI 4515.13. The page quotes DoDI 4515.13 §4.1.a: no guarantee of transportation, no Space-A reservations, DoD is not obligated to continue or return you. Bring funds for commercial travel, lodging, and other expenses.

Dependents under 14 (page): Must travel with the sponsor or eligible parent; Federal/State/local/tribal government ID (passport or raised-seal birth certificate — not a hospital certificate). USID sponsor must show proof of sponsorship (dependent DoD ID and privilege number) via MPF or https://milconnect.dmdc.osd.mil/milconnect/

Base access: REAL ID or passport plus VCC if you lack a CAC / dependent ID.

What are baggage limits and Space-A/PE fees if published?

Bags (AMC page): two bags per person, 70 lb max, 62 linear inches. One carry-on that must fit under any aircraft seat. (No second “personal item” sentence on this page.)

Fees: Not printed on the HTML page. Gram (28 Jan 2025) was not fully extracted for a head-tax line in this research pass — do not invent $23.40. Ask the counter.

Shoes (January 2025 Gram): Open-toe / open-heel shoes, including 5-finger footwear, are prohibited.

Can I travel with pets from here?

January 2025 AMC Gram: pets must stay inside the kennel/carrier at all times inside the building (service animals excepted). Owner is responsible for microchip, immunizations, border clearance, DD Form 2208 / 2209 or civilian equivalents, bilingual certificates, and proof of ownership. What names are used for the Joint Base Lindsey Graham passenger terminal?

The current official name is Joint Base Lindsey Graham Passenger Terminal. The passenger facility is also named Charles L. Shaub Passenger Terminal. Use Joint Base Lindsey Graham in Pop’s search, favorites, and watches. This is not Yeager ANGB in West Virginia and not the civilian airport terminal.

No. 0600–2200. The “24/7” banner is the contact/recording claim. Flag it.

Primary Space-A destinations?

By passenger count: Ramstein and Andrews. Not a reservation. Worldwide missions happen; frequency changes.

Can I leave a car for a year?

Long-term PAX lot: register at Bldg 164, generally AD deployed/TDY/leave, ≤370 days, no RVs. Ask whether Space-A (non-AD) is even eligible before you park.

Is this the civilian airport counter?

No. Adjacent geography, different operation. AMC is the 437 APS / Shaub terminal on the Air Base.

Do I include SSNs on the signup email?

No. The page forbids SSN, passport numbers, and dates of birth.

Uber on base?

The AMC page links an UBER INFO PDF. Contents were not extracted in this pass; open that icon rather than inventing gate rules for TNCs.

Weapons Station vs Air Base?

Passenger terminal is on the Air Base in South Carolina. Navy Weapons Station is a different part of the joint base. Do not drive to the Weapons Station for Space-A.
