Hill Air Force Base, an Air Force Materiel Command installation near Ogden in northern Utah, is listed on AMC's Non-AMC CONUS Space-A directory. The 75th Air Base Wing is host. Ogden Air Logistics Complex performs depot maintenance on F-35, F-22, F-16, A-10, C-130, and Minuteman III systems. The 388th and 419th Fighter Wings fly the Air Force's first combat-capable F-35A force from this field. Space-A flights at Hill are a northern-Utah stop, separate from Salt Lake City Air National Guard service at the civilian airport.

Where is the passenger terminal?

Street address and building number: Not published on hill.af.mil homepage or on the live AMC Non-AMC CONUS row.

The official Hill AFB Telephone Quick-Reference Guide lists Air Passenger Terminal 777-3088 (no building). On base. GPS a generic “Hill AFB” pin is not a terminal pin. No official terminal-map URL. Hill-Base-Entry.pdf is a visitor-access brochure, not a base map.

How do I get on base / which gate should I use?

The AMC directory row does not print gates.

From hill.af.mil Gate Hours for Hill AFB fact sheet (search-indexed 27 Aug 2026; direct fetch 403):

  • South Gate — 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • South Gate Visitors Center — 7 a.m.–4 p.m. Monday–Friday, including AFMC Family Days; closed weekends and federal holidays. Phone 801-777-8631. Bldg 542 (newcomers page + Base-Entry brochure).
  • West Gate — 4 a.m.–10 p.m. Monday–Friday; Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m.–6 p.m.; closed federal holidays (unless otherwise posted) and AFMC Family Days.
  • North Gate — 4:30 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday–Friday; closed weekends and federal holidays; open on AFMC Family Days. Commercial vehicle inspection 6 a.m.–3 p.m. M–F at North Gate; after-hours commercial: Base Defense Operations Center 801-777-3058/6669.

West Gate 24/7 conflict — flag, do not silently pick: the Gate Hours fact sheet (and a Feb in-person-work gate update) is not 24/7 for West Gate. The Newcomers page still says “The South and West gates are open 24/7.” Gate Hours fact sheet is the hours page; still flag the newcomers line. An older 2017 news item that West Gate “will become 24/7” is not the current fact sheet.

VCC hours conflict: Gate Hours fact sheet 7 a.m.–4 p.m. M–F. Hill-Base-Entry.pdf still prints South Gate VCC 0500–1700 MON–FRI. Treat the PDF as possibly stale; fact sheet wins for the clock, flagged.

After hours / weekends / holidays: hill.af.mil “New visitor access procedures” article: visitor passes issued at the South Gate entry controller when the VCC is closed. Telephone sponsorship is not authorized. Credentialed personnel sponsor in person at the South Gate VCC or via VCC SharePoint from a government computer.

Trusted Traveler Plus (2022 hill.af.mil article): government employees and military ID card holders may vouch for passengers; 100% ID checks for passengers remain. Contractors, civilian retirees, and foreign nationals are not allowed escort authority and go to South Gate Visitor Center. Confirm whether that 2022 policy is still posted before you plan a retiree escort.

Newcomers page: first-time arrivals use South Gate and ask directions to Bldg 450 (lodging), not a published PAX-terminal pin. All visitors: South Gate VCC, Bldg 542.

HQ AMC does not process sign-up. The 40-location form does not list Hill. Print confirmation. If you get no confirmation, use the directory phone — do not assume a walk-up counter is staffed.

A 2018 hill.af.mil article also named a “Hill AFB Passenger Terminal” Facebook page as a flight-info avenue. No URL was printed then or now. Current homepage / AMC directory do not print a terminal Facebook href. Do not invent a URL. Installation facebook.com/HillAirForceBase is not a passenger-terminal schedule channel.

How and when do I mark present?

Pets split: AF Inns Hill amenities list on 27 Aug 2026 does not include Pet Friendly. Newcomers page says the Inn offers pet units, first-come, first-served, with a pet fee printed on that page. Call the desk; AF Inns says do not rely on the web form for pets/children. No room rates published here.

Off-base: Newcomers page says if the Inn is full, a CSR helps arrange off-base lodging for members on orders. That is PCS language, not a Space-A hotel list. No nightly rates published here.

A Grand Hyatt Deer Valley MWR resort article is not Hill passenger-terminal lodging.

Is there a USO, food, Wi-Fi, showers, lockers?

Not published on a Hill passenger-terminal page (none exists). Do not plan showers, lockers, or a snack bar from unofficial directories.

What documents are required?

Space-A: Eligibility under DoDI 4515.13. Bring sign-up proof. Have ID, orders/leave, and passports/visas as required on your person.

What are baggage limits and Space-A/PE fees if published?

Can I travel with pets from here?

VCC Saturday for a weekend show?

Fact sheet: VCC closed weekends and federal holidays. After-hours article: South Gate entry controller may issue passes. Do not assume Bldg 542 is staffed Saturday.

Mountain View Inn — is that the terminal?

No. Bldg 450 is lodging (24-hour arrival point). Terminal building is unpublished.
