Naval Station Guantanamo Bay on Cuba's southeastern coast handles Space-A flights at a Navy passenger terminal. Official Navy pages state the station was established in 1903 and is the United States' oldest overseas military installation, about 430 miles southeast of Miami. Travelers should treat it as a Navy air terminal on a leased Cuban bay, not an Air Force aerial port and not a Florida Navy stop such as NAS Jacksonville.

Where is the passenger terminal?

Naval Station Guantánamo Bay Passenger Terminal, PSC 1005 BOX 26, FPO AA 34009.

The AMC ticket counter / roll call is on the Leeward side. A Windward Annex is a separate counter. There is no street-style CONUS pin on the AMC page. On station. No terminal-map URL.

How do I get on base / which gate should I use?

This is not a CONUS gate problem. You arrive by air (or sealift). Official Navy Lodge page: all visitors need Commanding Officer permission/approval, orders, and a sponsor to gain access. After landing: security, clearance paperwork and passport, then bus or rental to the pier, ferry to Windward, then to lodging.

The AMC page does not print a VCC or a Cuban land-border gate for Space-A. Do not invent a public airport arrival.

What are hours, phone, DSN, and email?

Two hour blocks on the same official page — flag both; do not collapse them.

Leeward terminal Comm: (757) 458-6408 / (757) 458-6305 — these are CONUS-style 757 numbers for a Cuba terminal. They are the published commercial lines, not a Norfolk AMC dispatch number.

DSN (Leeward): 660-6408 / 6305. Live AMC directory prints DSN (312) 660-6408/6305 — that (312) is a DSN routing prefix, not a commercial phone. Do not publish (312) as commercial. Do not call AMC Scott (312) as if it were GTMO.

How do I sign up for Space-A?

Email CNIC_SE_GNBY_ATOC@US.NAVY.MIL. Print proof.

The HQ AMC Space-A email-form dropdown (27 Aug 2026) does not list NS Guantanamo Bay. The form’s restricted-location asterisk list is separate; GTMO is simply absent. Do not expect the HQ form to file you here. HQ AMC does not process sign-up.

Active duty members and DoD civilians must be in a leave status to sign up (AMC GTMO page). Space-A seats are often limited.

How and when do I mark present?

The AMC page does not use the phrase “mark present.” Selection is roll call at the Leeward AMC ticket counter. Remote email is not presence.

Have at least three copies of CAC / passports / orders. Dated rotator banners also split people who still need to check in vs already holding a boarding pass vs luggage-only — those clocks rotate; read the live banner.

When is roll call?

At the AMC ticket counter on the Leeward side at 0900 on flight days, unless a dated banner / 72-hour file says otherwise.

Example not a standing timetable (09 May 2026 banner, Jacksonville rotator Fri 15 May 2026): Space-A and not checked in 0900 (0830 ferry); luggage 1000 (0930 ferry); fully checked in 1200 (1130 ferry). Nov 2025 snapshot used an ALL PASSENGERS 0700 (0630 ferry) line. Use the live banner + 72-hour. Missing the ferry is missing roll call.

When should duty / PE passengers check in?

Counters open for check-in six hours prior to departure. Duty passengers in line NLT 3 hours 20 minutes prior. Late arrivals go to Customer Service for re-booking (or as PCS orders instruct).

Rotator weeks often add early check-in the day before with separate Annex vs Terminal clocks (examples on May 2026 and Nov 2025 banners). Read the live “Flight Delays/Changes” block.

Does this terminal operate Patriot Express flights? If yes, to where?

This GTMO page does not print a standing PE city list. Dated 2026 banners on the page have been Jacksonville Rotator showtimes (and a Kingston, Jamaica AMC counter comment address). That is not a promise JAX operates this week.

Norfolk PE / tariff: the NS Norfolk AMC Gram tariffs NS Guantanamo Bay as a PE fee destination. Norfolk’s September 2026 PE board (as used in the Norfolk FAQ) did not show GTMO. Do not invent a current Norfolk PE from this GTMO page. Check this page’s 72-hour / banner and the origin terminal (JAX and/or Norfolk) 72-hour/PE icons. This FAQ does not quote seats.

Where is short-term and long-term parking, max days, and pass rules?

Not published on the AMC GTMO HTML page. You generally do not drive a privately owned vehicle onto the station from CONUS. Do not invent a 30-day lot. Rental cars (Navy Lodge: pick up after the ferry / Windward) are a lodging-page note, not a terminal parking pass.

What lodging is nearby on-base and off-base?

On station (Navy Lodge official page only, checked 27 Aug 2026):

Access: CO permission/approval, orders, and a sponsor — a lodge reservation is not base access. Directions on that page: land, security, paperwork and passport, bus/rental to pier, ferry to Windward, then the lodge.

Off-station Cuban hotels: not a Space-A option and not on the AMC page. No nightly rates here.

A second official Navy inn (NGIS, Windward Bldg 1670) exists on dodlodging.net; this FAQ does not use it as the lodging source.

Is there a USO, food, Wi-Fi, showers, lockers?

Not published on the AMC GTMO page (baggage, unattended-bag confiscation, and “masks are not required at this time” are printed; no USO/Wi-Fi/snack/shower/locker line). Do not invent a Leeward USO. Navy Lodge lists Wi-Fi at the lodge, not at the AMC counter.

What documents are required?

AMC page: CAC, passports, travel orders ready; at least three copies.

Navy Lodge / station access: CO approval, orders, sponsor, passport at landing.

Duty: funded orders; late = Customer Service.

Space-A: DoDI 4515.13 plus leave status for AD and DoD civilians. Destination/FCG as the counter requires. Bring sign-up proof.

What are baggage limits and Space-A/PE fees if published?

Bags (AMC GTMO page): 2 checked bags, 70 lb, 62 linear inches (L+W+H) each. One carry-on not to exceed 45 linear inches plus one personal item that fits under a seat.

Unattended bags are confiscated. Dated banners have required all luggage including personal items and carry-ons collected at the terminal to be searched, with only personal items returned at boarding — that is mission-specific; read the live banner.

Space-A / PE dollar fees: not printed on this HTML. Norfolk’s Gram has tariffed GTMO in the past; do not treat a Norfolk pamphlet number as this counter’s current till. No cash-vs-card line on this page.

Can I travel with pets from here?

The AMC page points to Advice to Passengers (filename seen 03 OCT 2025) for passenger info and CDC requirements for transporting dogs to the U.S. That PDF is dated advice, not a current Gram.

No GTMO-specific pet-slot table on the HTML. HQ AMC: PE pets are typically PCS via TMO; organic aircraft generally do not take pets. Ask the terminal before you count on a kennel slot. See the AMC Pet Travel page.

Where are schedules posted?

On the official AMC GTMO page:

  • Dated Flight Delays/Changes banner (rotator showtimes + ferry)
  • 72-hour / schedule icons as posted (recheck; they rotate)
  • Advice to Passengers PDF (dated 03 OCT 2025 in the captures used)

Why are the phones 757 if this is Cuba?

Because the official page (and AMC directory) publish Hampton Roads 757 commercial numbers for Leeward, Windward, recording, fax, and cargo. Dial (757) 458-6408 / 6305 for the Leeward counter. They are not NS Norfolk Passenger Service Dispatch (757) 341-9912.

Is Space-A “restricted”?

The HQ email form omits GTMO. The terminal requires leave status for AD and DoD civilians. Station access needs sponsor / CO approval. That is not a blanket “retirees never fly,” and this FAQ does not invent a tourist ban from blogs. Contact the terminal.

Do I need the ferry for roll call?

Yes if you are on Windward. Roll call is Leeward. Banners print ferry times in parentheses next to show times. Missing the 0830 ferry can mean missing a 0900 show.

Is the current rotator Norfolk or Jacksonville?

This page’s 2026 dated banners have been Jacksonville. Norfolk still tariffs GTMO on its Gram; Norfolk’s Sep 2026 PE board (Norfolk FAQ) did not list GTMO. Check both origin pages. Do not lock a CONUS gateway from a 2025 rumor.

Is the flight recording working?

May 2026 index: (757) 458-6204 currently down. Use the Leeward counter numbers and the web banner.

Can I show without three copies of orders?

The page asks for at least three copies. Do not test that.

Are there lockers while I ride the ferry?

Not published. Unattended bags are confiscated.

Does a Navy Lodge booking get me on station?

No. Lodge page: CO permission/approval, orders, and a sponsor.

What about Kingston, Jamaica?

The page gives an ICE/comment address for a Kingston AMC Passenger Counter (437aps.quality.assur@us.af.mil). That is not a GTMO Space-A signup path.

Header says M–F 0900–1800 but Leeward lists Saturday 1000–1400. Which is it?

Both are on the official page. Header/Annex vs Leeward block. Flight days override. Confirm with (757) 458-6408 / 6305.
