The 120th Airlift Wing posts Space-A flights from its Small Air Terminal at Great Falls Air National Guard Base in Great Falls, Montana. Official passenger-terminal pages place the wing on the Great Falls International Airport airfield, about three miles southwest of the city, with Malmstrom Air Force Base about ten miles northeast. The Montana Air National Guard flies C-130 Hercules airlift. This desk is not the Malmstrom missile-field installation.

Where is the passenger terminal?

120th Airlift Wing Small Air Terminal, 2800 Airport Ave. B, Building 38, Great Falls, MT 59404.

Workbook address matches. GPS Bldg 38 / 2800 Airport Ave. B, not a generic “Great Falls International” commercial-terminal pin. The 120th AW is about three miles southwest of Great Falls, collocated with GTF. Malmstrom AFB is about 10 miles northeast — a different installation.

How do I get on base / which gate should I use?

The passenger-terminal HTML does not name a Space-A gate or print gate hours. Use the official map_large.jpg for layout. Do not invent a named gate from blogs. Travelers coordinate drop-off, baggage, and parking themselves. Confirm access with the Small Air Terminal / recording before you drive.

What are hours, phone, DSN, and email?

Hours (official page — wins;): Monday–Friday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (contact block: Monday-Friday/7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). Welcome text: processes passengers during normal duty hours 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; limited passenger support based on personnel availability and other mission requirements. Not manned 24/7.

How do I sign up for Space-A?

Sign-up 60 days prior to a flight being released by:

1. Emailing the appropriate forms/documentation to usaf.mt.120-aw.mbx.space-a@mail.mil (also send/print for 120AW.MBX.Space-A@us.af.mil — both official; do not pick), 2. Fax 406-791-0628, or 3. Dropping documents in person at the Small Air Terminal, Building 38.

Forms linked from the page include DD Form 1853 and AMC Form 140. Great Falls is not on the HQ AMC 40-location form. HQ AMC does not process sign-up. Print the sent fax/email. The terminal is not responsible for lost faxed sign-ups on the 2016 step-by-step PDF still linked from the page — treat that PDF as dated. This FAQ did not call or email.

How and when do I mark present?

The current HTML does not use the phrase “mark present.” HQ AMC: you must be present at the terminal for selection; email/fax is not presence. Show times and pertinent information go on the recording within 24 hours prior to departure. Have documents and bags at Bldg 38.

When is roll call?

Not published as a standing “N hours prior” and no roll-call PDF URL. Show times are on the 24-hour recording (406) 791-0627, posted within 24 hours prior. Seats that will be released are posted on that line 24–72 hours prior to scheduled departure. This FAQ does not quote live showtimes.

When should duty / PE passengers check in?

Not published as a PE/duty NLT (this is not a PE gateway). Use Mon–Fri 7 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and the recording. The terminal closes at 4:30 p.m. — 2016 PDF travel tips still say you will need lodging/transportation if you are still waiting; that matches the HTML not 24/7 / no base lodging lines. 2016 PDF is dated.

Does this terminal operate Patriot Express flights? If yes, to where?

No. The 120th AW does not have channel missions or regularly scheduled flights. No 30-day PE icon.

The HTML lists common destinations (not a board, not a promise): Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA; Peoria, IL; Cheyenne, WY; and Reno, NV. Space-A seats are not always released. Call the recording. This FAQ does not quote live seats.

Where is short-term and long-term parking, max days, and pass rules?

Official page: a long-/short-term parking lot on base, just north of the main parking lot once you enter. No shuttle or transportation from that lot to Building 38. Drop-off, bags, and parking are the traveler’s job. Max days: not published — do not invent one.

Rental cars: available at Great Falls International Airport; the page cites http://flygtf.com/?p=RentCar (airport site, not a DoD SOP). You set up travel between the airport and the 120th AW**.

What lodging is nearby on-base and off-base?

On base at the 120th: none. Official: “There is no base lodging and the terminal is not manned 24/7. Travelers will need to set up lodging accordingly in Great Falls as well as transportation to and from the base.” Air Force Inns directory (27 Aug 2026) has no Great Falls ANGB / 120 AW property. ANG rule: matching af.dodlodging.net only — Not published.

Malmstrom AFB (~10 miles NE, terminal page) is a different installation. Do not treat Malmstrom AF Inns as 120th lodging.

Off-base: “in Great Falls” — no hotel names or rates on the HTML.

Is there a USO, food, Wi-Fi, showers, lockers?

Official: “There are no vending machines, snacks, drinks, Wi-Fi or any other common services like those found in USO facilities.” Lost-and-found: ask a Passenger Service Representative. Smoking is not permitted in the terminal or on military/contract flights; designated smoking area outside.

What documents are required?

Duty / space-required: travel orders and destination documents. Space-A: DoDI 4515.13, FCG as required. Page links DD Form 1853 / AMC Form 140. Have documents on your person. Security: TSA rules (tsa.gov).

What are baggage limits and Space-A/PE fees if published?

Not published as a local 2×70 / 62-inch block on the HTML. The page links AMC Baggage Allowance. Still-linked 2016 PDFs are dated — do not treat them as the 2026 bag SOP. PE fees: not applicable. Do not copy another terminal’s head tax.

Can I travel with pets from here?

Why does AMC DSN end 2627 if the recording is 0627?

Unresolved last-4 conflict. DSN is not on the wing HTML. Do not publish (312) as commercial. Use (406) 791-0627.

Are JBLM / Peoria / Cheyenne / Reno a 30-day board?

No. They are “common destinations” on the HTML while the same page says no channel missions and seats are not always released. Not today’s board.

Can I sleep in the terminal after 1630?

No base lodging; not manned 24/7. Closes with the 4:30 p.m. clock. Set up lodging in Great Falls.

Is there a shuttle from the long-term lot to Bldg 38?

No. Official: no shuttle lot-to-terminal.

Is 120Vigilantes the flight board?

No. Wing PA Facebook only. Schedule channel is the recording.

Are the Space-A PDFs on the page current?

Linked files include AFD-160718- / AFD-160719- / AFD-160830-* (2016) and AFD-190424-140 (2019 Form 140). Dated. HTML hours/phones/emails win.

Can I use Malmstrom lodging because it is 10 miles away?

Terminal page locates Malmstrom; lodging sentence is no base lodging / stay in Great Falls. This FAQ does not substitute Malmstrom AF Inns.

Is this on the HQ AMC 40-location form?

No. Use the local mailboxes / fax / Bldg 38.

Do I need to be present, or is the email enough?

Email/fax gets you on the list. Selection requires presence at Bldg 38 at the recording’s showtime. 2016 PDF “mark present” language is dated.

May I smoke in the hold room?

No. Designated area outside only.

Is GTF the same building as Bldg 38?

Collocated with the airport, not the same as the commercial terminal. GPS Building 38. You arrange movement between GTF rentals and the 120th.
