The passenger terminal at Eielson Air Force Base supports Space-A flights from the Joint Mobility Complex, about 25 miles southeast of Fairbanks in Alaska's interior. Official AMC pages identify the 732nd Air Mobility Squadron Operating Location A as a contracted air-terminal ground-handling site. The host 354th Fighter Wing flies combat-coded F-35A Lightning IIs and hosts RED FLAG-Alaska, with the field about 120 miles south of the Arctic Circle and well north of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.

Where is the passenger terminal?

Eielson AFB Passenger Terminal, 2939 Flightline Avenue, Eielson AFB, AK 99702, inside the Joint Mobility Complex (JMC).

GPS that Flightline Avenue address, not a generic “Eielson AFB” pin. On base. The AMC page does not publish a terminal-map URL.

Interior Alaska, 25 miles southeast of Fairbanks, near North Pole. JBER / Elmendorf is about 380 miles south. About 120 miles south of the Arctic Circle — the page says winter clothing is a necessity from October through March.

How do I get on base / which gate should I use?

The AMC Eielson page does not print gate names or gate hours.

From eielson.af.mil Base Access (search-indexed official page; direct fetch 403 on 27 Aug 2026):

  • Visitor Control Center: (907) 377-3807
  • Monday–Friday 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Family Days 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Closed weekends and federal holidays
  • South Gate listed closed (commercial-inspection line)
  • Main Gate commercial inspection October–March 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (hours subject to weather)

Conflict: some eielson.af.mil chrome (Legal Office sidebar) still says VCC 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Use the Base Access page (to 5 p.m.) first. MilitaryINSTALLATIONS also lists Hursey Gate / VCC with mixed 24-hour-pass language — treat gate/VCC status as changeable.

CAC / DoD ID holders use an open vehicle-access gate. Visitors without a pass should not assume a weekend evening roll call is possible if VCC is closed. Confirm with VCC / the service counter.

What are hours, phone, DSN, and email?

Hours (official AMC page, Wayback 16 Jun 2026 + live snippets 27 Aug 2026): 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday–Friday, and evenings on nights of departures. Workbook lead (0730–1630 M-F & evenings on nights of departures) matches.

Conflict (dated capture): Wayback 15 Jan 2026 HTML said “7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily” plus departure evenings. That daily wording is not on the June 2026 capture or the live index. Monday–Friday wins.

Do not publish AMC (312) as commercial. Eielson’s printed DSN prefix is 317. Commercial is 907.

How do I sign up for Space-A?

Email 354LRS.EielsonSpaceA.SpaceA@us.af.mil, or use the HQ AMC Space-A email form and select Eielson AFB AK. AMC Form 140 is also linked from the Eielson AMC page.

HQ AMC does not process sign-up. Print the completed form or confirmation and bring it. AMC offers a Travel Self-Signup Tool for AMC locations — use whichever channel the live AMC Space-A page is pointing to the day you sign up.

Active duty must be on leave to sign up (AMC Eielson page).

How and when do I mark present?

The AMC page does use this idea: arrive 30 minutes prior to roll call to mark yourself present at the AMC passenger service counter. Remote email sign-up is not presence.

Have ID, orders, pet paperwork if any, and all bags with you.

When is roll call?

2 hours and 20 minutes prior to departure at the AMC passenger service counter, unless the 72-hour schedule says otherwise.

Verify NLT/roll-call on the 72-Hour Schedule icon. All flights can change or delay without notice. Call the 24-hour recording or the counter.

When should duty / PE passengers check in?

No separate PE early-bird clock is printed. Mark present 30 minutes before the 2-hour-20-minute roll call (so plan to be at the counter about 2 hours 50 minutes prior unless the 72-hour remarks say otherwise).

Bring extra copies of orders — a copier is not always available; the terminal keeps a copy for official travel.

Does this terminal operate Patriot Express flights? If yes, to where?

No standing PE board. The AMC page: Eielson AFB does not have regularly scheduled flights. Originations/transits are random, destinations too numerous to predict in advance. There is no 30-day PE icon.

Do not treat a blog “Alaska–Lower 48” rumor as a rotator. Check the 72-hour PDF. This FAQ does not quote live seats.

Where is short-term and long-term parking, max days, and pass rules?

Published on the AMC page:

  • Long-term parking at the passenger terminal, only for Space-A / Space-R passengers flying out of Eielson. RVs and trailers are not authorized.
  • First-come, first-served. Vehicle must meet state/base registration, license, insurance, safety rules.
  • Placard from a Passenger Service Agent in the front windshield.
  • Government not responsible for loss, damage, vandalism, or theft.
  • Short-term lot: 12-hour limit.
  • Failure to comply: citation and/or vehicle removal.

Max-day cap for the long-term lot is not printed. Do not invent one.

What lodging is nearby on-base and off-base?

On base (official AF Inns page only, checked 27 Aug 2026):

- Air Force Inns — Eielson AFB (Goldrush Inn), 354 FSS, 5259 North Street, Eielson AFB, AK 99702. https://af.dodlodging.net/propertys/Eielson-AFB Main 907-377-1844; DSN 317-377-1844; fax 907-377-2559 / DSN 317-377-2559. Attention Space-A customers: call the Goldrush Inn for current availability (no “rooms tonight” here). Pet-friendly / children: call the desk; AF Inns says do not rely on the web form.

Conflict: eielson.af.mil About Us / contact chrome lists Lodging: (907) 377-7885. That is not the AF Inns Goldrush main number (1844). Use AF Inns 1844 for the inn; treat 7885 as a flagged installation listing, not a replacement.

Off-base: Not listed on the AMC HTML. No nightly rates published here.

Is there a USO, food, Wi-Fi, showers, lockers?

Not published on the official AMC HTML page.

In-flight meals: “AT THIS TIME, WE ARE UNABLE TO ORDER IN-FLIGHT MEALS.”

Do not invent a snack bar or locker wall. Unofficial base-directory amenities lists are leads only.

What documents are required?

Duty / space-required: travel orders (extra copies). Destination FCG as applicable.

Space-A: DoDI 4515.13 eligibility. Active duty on leave to sign up.

AMC policy update effective 30 June 2025 (printed on this page):

1. Dependents under 10 must travel with the sponsor or eligible parent and have federal/state/local/tribal government-issued ID (not a school ID unless a government agency issued it). Raised-seal birth certificate from city/county/state is valid; hospital certificate of birth is not. Passport also works. 2. USID sponsor must show proof of sponsorship for those under-10 dependents: DD Form 1172-2 from milConnect (DEERS printout). Birth certificate will not be accepted as proof of sponsorship. MILCONNECT guide PDF is linked on the AMC page.

Travel to Guam: leisure travel requires passport or birth certificate as proof of citizenship or you will be denied travel (FCG).

100% disabled veterans (excluding retirees) without a DoD ID that says Retired: limited to DoDI 4515.13 Table 3 #47 (CONUS and the listed territories; Guam/American Samoa may transit Hawaii or Alaska).

Have documents on your person.

What are baggage limits and Space-A/PE fees if published?

Bags (AMC page): 2 checked bags, 70 lb and 62 linear inches each. One carry-on plus one personal item that fits under a seat. TSA rules apply.

Space-A/PE fees: not printed on the Eielson AMC HTML (no PE head-tax line). Do not invent one.

eielson.af.mil says baggage limits are based upon aircraft type — extra caution on small airframes; the AMC page still prints the standard 2×70/62 line.

Can I travel with pets from here?

The AMC page links AMC Pet Travel. It does not publish an Eielson-specific pet-slot or kennel policy. Confirm with the counter before you count on a pet space. You own CDC/destination paperwork.

On the official AMC Eielson page (not Facebook as an official terminal source):

Will there be a flight this Saturday?

Unknown until it appears on the 72-hour board. There is no weekly PE. Random transits only.

Desk closed at 1630 but roll call is 1900?

Hours include evenings on nights of departures. eielson.af.mil: after hours as needed. Confirm on the recording / 72-hour remarks. Do not assume Saturday staffing if nothing is launching.

Recording vs counter — which number?

Recording (907) 377-1623. Counter 1854 and 1250. Workbook lists the two counter numbers, not the recording.

Can I leave an RV in long-term parking?

No. RVs and trailers are not authorized.

How long can the car sit in long-term?

Not published beyond “long term” + placard + Space-A/Space-R outbound only. Ask for the current placard rules. Short-term is 12 hours.

Goldrush Inn next to the JMC?

AF Inns address is 5259 North Street. The AMC page does not print walking time. Call 907-377-1844; Space-A customers are told to call for availability (no online promise).

Is (907) 377-7885 lodging?

That is an eielson.af.mil lodging listing, not the AF Inns Goldrush main (1844). Flagged conflict.

Do I need winter gear in August?

The page flags October through March. August is not in that window, but weather is still interior Alaska; the page does not print a summer clothing list.

Can 100% DAV fly Space-A to Japan from here?

Not under the Table 3 #47 limits printed here (CONUS / AK / HI / PR / USVI / Guam / American Samoa). Do not invent an exception.

In-flight meals?

Unable to order at this time (AMC page banner).

VCC at 0700 Sunday?

Base Access: VCC closed weekends. A Sunday show with no CAC/DBIDS is a planning problem. Call VCC (907) 377-3807 on a duty day.

Is “daily 0730–1630” still posted?

Not on the June 2026 / live AMC page. That was a January 2026 capture. Current print is Monday–Friday.
