Space-A flights at Eglin Air Force Base are run by 96th Logistics Readiness Squadron Air Operations on the Florida Panhandle, between Fort Walton Beach and Niceville. Air Mobility Command publishes an Eglin passenger-terminal page, but the location remains a fighter-base Air Transportation Function, not an AMC aerial port. That page states Eglin does not have regular space-available flights. The 96th Test Wing, Air Force Materiel Command, hosts the installation and manages the Eglin Gulf Test Range—about 120,000 square miles of overwater airspace from the panhandle toward the Florida Keys.

Where is the passenger terminal?

96 LRS Air Operations, 1400 Nomad Way, Bldg 1400, Eglin AFB, FL 32542.

Workbook address matches. GPS Bldg 1400 / Nomad Way, not a generic “Eglin AFB” pin and not KVPS (Destin–Fort Walton Beach Airport) ARP. On base. The AMC page does not publish a terminal-map URL.

How do I get on base / which gate should I use?

The AMC Eglin page does not print gate names or gate hours.

From eglin.af.mil Visitor Control Center fact sheet + 13 Apr hours-change article (search-indexed official pages; direct fetch 403 on 27 Aug 2026):

  • Pass pickup is at the Air Force Armament Museum Visitor Control Center, Bldg 2938 — not at the old East/West gate VCC booths during duty hours.
  • VCC: weekdays 7 a.m.–4 p.m.; weekends 8 a.m.–noon.
  • Holiday split on the same fact sheet: 7 a.m.–3 p.m. on MLK Day, Memorial Day Resilient Mission Day, Juneteenth, Veterans Day, Presidents Day, Independence Resilient Mission Day, Independence Day, and New Year’s Eve; closed Memorial Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving Day, Thanksgiving Resilient Mission Day, Labor Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
  • After VCC hours, sponsors can get passes from Airmen at the gate (hours-change article names East/West gates). Does not apply to contractors or foreign nationals.
  • Passes granted for a maximum of 72 hours.
  • REAL ID (or a valid passport) required for visitors/contractors 18+ to receive a pass (eglin.af.mil REAL ID article). CAC / Uniformed Services ID holders are not required to present REAL ID for their own access.

CAC / DoD ID holders use an open vehicle-access gate. A weekend/holiday Space-A show without a pass is a planning problem if VCC is closed and you are a contractor or foreign national. Gate/VCC times change; confirm on the VCC fact sheet.

What are hours, phone, DSN, and email?

  • Eglin Space-A fact sheet: 7 a.m.–4 p.m. (that capture does not print Mon–Fri vs daily on the hours line).

How do I sign up for Space-A?

AMC page: contact (850) 882-2488; after-hours leftover seats need NLT 1400L the prior duty day. The page has a “Sign Up For Space Available” control (destination URL not extracted here). Eglin is not on the 40-location form.

Eglin fact sheet — four named methods: in-person at Bldg 1400 Nomad Way; fax (method named; no fax number printed on the official fact-sheet capture — do not copy unofficial 850-882-3267); postal mail of AMC Form 140 to 1400 Nomad Way; email 96lrs.airops@eglin.af.mil (attach leave forms, command-sponsor letters, other travel documents; SSNs “highly encouraged, but not mandatory”).

How and when do I mark present?

The AMC page does not use “mark present.” Fact sheet: check in at Bldg 1400 Nomad Way with required documents; await your Space-A call. Remote email is not presence.

After hours / holidays: if you did not contact them NLT 1400L the duty day prior, do not assume a roll call will be staffed. Have documents and bags with you.

When is roll call?

Not published as an “N hours prior” clock on the AMC HTML or the fact sheet. Fact sheet: await the Space-A call at Bldg 1400. There was no 72-hour or roll-call PDF icon in the 16 Jun 2026 AMC capture. Call (850) 882-2488 during published hours.

When should duty / PE passengers check in?

Duty / Space-R: Fact sheet covers Space-Required and Space-Available at the same Air Terminal Operations block. No PE-specific 24-hour check-in clock (not a PE gateway). No NLT printed on the AMC HTML beyond the 1400L prior-duty-day after-hours contact rule. Call the counter.

Does this terminal operate Patriot Express flights? If yes, to where?

No. AMC page: fighter base, does not have regular space available flights. No 30-day PE icon on the 16 Jun 2026 capture. Do not plan a rotator/PE hop from Eglin from a blog. Organic leftovers (if any) are by phone after 1400L notice when outside duty hours. This FAQ does not quote live seats.

Where is short-term and long-term parking, max days, and pass rules?

Not published on the AMC Eglin HTML or the Space-A fact sheet. Unofficial “no long-term parking / no shuttle / commercial taxi” lines on base-directory pages are flagged unofficial. Do not invent max days.

What lodging is nearby on-base and off-base?

AMC HTML does not name lodging.

A 96th LRS shuttle fact sheet (eglin.af.mil, dated 21 Jan 2026; schedule effective 1 April 2026) is a 33rd Fighter Wing-side shuttle for military / federal CAC holders. It does not name Bldg 1400 / Nomad Way. Do not invent a PAX-terminal loop. AMC terminal page does not print ground transportation.

What documents are required?

Duty / Space-R: Travel orders. Space-A: DoDI 4515.13 eligibility. Fact sheet names leave paperwork, valid Uniformed Services ID, visa, passport as examples; attach leave forms and command-sponsor letters with email sign-up.

Have documents on your person. All flights subject to change without prior notice.

What are baggage limits and Space-A/PE fees if published?

Bags (AMC page): 2 bags per person, 70 lb and 62 linear inches each. One carry-on plus one personal item that must fit under any aircraft seat.

Fact sheet says weight limits are strictly enforced and TSA prohibited-item rules apply; it does not reprint the 70 lb / 62 in numbers (those are on the AMC page).

Fees: Not published. No PE head-tax line (consistent with not being a PE gateway).

Can I travel with pets from here?

Can I dial (312) 872-2488 from a cell?

No. Directory DSN uses (312). 312 is not a commercial prefix. Call (850) 882-2488. Fact sheet DSN stem is 872; AMC page prints DSN 882-2488 — flagged prefix split.

Where is the fax number for the “four ways”?

Not printed on the official fact-sheet capture (fax is named as a method only). Do not use unofficial 850-882-3267.

Is Eglin on the HQ AMC 40-location form?

No. Use the two local mailboxes and the phone.

GPS Destin–Fort Walton Beach (KVPS)?

No. Terminal is Bldg 1400, 1400 Nomad Way. Workbook/advisory: coordinates in some products are KVPS ARP, not Bldg 1400.

Does the 33rd FW shuttle stop at Nomad Way?

Not published. Shuttle fact sheet is 33rd FW-side CAC shuttle; it does not name Bldg 1400.
