Dover Air Force Base in Delaware hosts an AMC passenger terminal at the 436th Aerial Port Squadron, nicknamed the Super Port. Official installation pages state Dover is home to the Department of Defense's largest aerial port and operates C-5M Super Galaxy and C-17 Globemaster III airlift. The base sits at the center of the Delmarva Peninsula in the First State. Space-A flights here use organic airlift from that East Coast aerial-port wing, a different identity from Andrews, BWI, or Joint Base Lindsey Graham.

Where is the passenger terminal?

436 APS Passenger Terminal, 150 Airlift Ave, Dover, DE 19902 on the AMC page capture of 12 Aug 2026.

How do I get on base / which gate should I use?

The AMC Dover page does not print gate names or gate hours.

From dover.af.mil Visitor Control Center (search-indexed official page; direct fetch 403 on 27 Aug 2026):

  • Monday–Friday 6 a.m.–5:50 p.m.
  • Saturday–Sunday 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

CAC / DoD ID holders use an open vehicle-access gate. Visitors without a pass should not assume a 0700 Sunday roll call is possible if VCC is the only way in. Confirm with VCC / the service counter.

dover.af.mil 436th Passenger Terminal: no base transportation service. Taxi, rental car, and bus only.

What are hours, phone, DSN, and email?

Hours (AMC page): 0800–2400 (banner: new hours starting 0001, 1 March 2025, 7 days a week). the AMC page.

Conflict: dover.af.mil 436th Passenger Terminal still lists Hours of Operation: 0800–1700. Use the AMC page (0800–2400) first. Unofficial 24/7 listings are stale.

How do I sign up for Space-A?

Email 436aps.spacea@us.af.mil (sponsor email must include name, branch, rank, duty status, leave dates if applicable, up to five countries, plus dependents traveling). Or use the HQ AMC Space-A email form and select Dover AFB DE.

Optional (saves time at present): DoD ID number, DOB, body weight, cell/email for texts, passport data, emergency POC not traveling with you.

HQ AMC does not process sign-up. Print confirmation. Do not send Social Security numbers.

How and when do I mark present?

In person at the AMC Passenger Services counter. Remote sign-up is not “present.”

AMC recommends arriving about one or two hours prior to roll call to process and mark present. Have documents and bags with you.

When is roll call?

Typically 4 hours prior to departure at the AMC Passenger Services counter, unless the 72-hour schedule says otherwise.

Flight information is updated daily around 1300 EST. Call (302) 677-2854 for the recording. All flights can change without notice.

When should duty / PE passengers check in?

Duty passengers: Counters to your immediate right as you enter. Check-in opens 5 hours prior to departure. Be in line NLT 3 hours 20 minutes prior. Late arrivals go to Customer Service for re-booking (or as PCS orders instruct).

This terminal does not publish PE-specific check-in clocks on the AMC page (no 30-day PE icon).

Does this terminal operate Patriot Express flights? If yes, to where?

Not published as a PE gateway on the AMC Dover page. Icons on the 12 Aug 2026 capture are 72-Hour Flight Schedule and Utilization Slides — no 30-day PE PDF.

dover.af.mil 436th Passenger Terminal (organic/cargo, not a PE tariff): primary Space-A destinations listed as Ramstein AB, Germany; Spangdahlem AB, Germany; Rota NAS, Spain; Travis AFB, CA; Joint Base Lindsey Graham, SC; and JB Lewis-McChord, WA. Seats on C-5/C-17 are often limited because of the cargo mission.

That unit page is not a promise those cities operate this week. Use the live 72-hour PDF. Do not plan a PE hop from Dover from a blog.

Where is short-term and long-term parking, max days, and pass rules?

Not published on the AMC Dover HTML page. Do not copy unofficial “60 days / 90 days near the BX” figures (spacea.net and blogs conflict with each other and are unofficial).

The terminal page links Dover AMC Gram 3 October 2025. Read that PDF for parking and passes. If the Gram is silent, ask the service counter. Do not invent max days.

What lodging is nearby on-base and off-base?

The AMC page does not print distance or a shuttle. Unofficial “Eagle’s Rest Inn” branding is not the AF Inns property title. dover.af.mil says there is no base transportation.

Is there a USO, food, Wi-Fi, showers, lockers?

Hours conflict — AMC page first: AMC lists Mon–Fri 0800–2000; Sat–Sun 0800–1700 (UTA weekends only). USO Delaware lists Mon–Fri 8 a.m.–8 p.m. and 512th Reserve Wing UTA weekend Sat–Sun 8 a.m.–2 p.m. Confirm in person, especially Saturday close time.

USO Delaware amenities: snacks/beverages, Wi-Fi, computers/printers, games, lounge. Showers and lockers are not published on the AMC page or that USO amenities list.

AMC page does not document a terminal snack bar independent of the USO.

What documents are required?

Duty: Funded travel orders at the duty counters (right as you enter).

Space-A: DoDI 4515.13 eligibility, plus passports/visas/FCG as required. Bring sign-up proof.

dover.af.mil also requires closed-toe shoes (no open toe/heel or high heels) and no torn/tattered/obscene clothing on AMC aircraft; TSA rules apply. That dress line is on the unit page, not the AMC HTML capture.

What are baggage limits and Space-A/PE fees if published?

Bags (AMC Dover page): 2 checked bags per person, 70 lb and 62 linear inches each. One carry-on plus one personal item that fits under a seat.

Select-flight limit: On some missions, only 20 passengers may check bags; anyone selected over 20 is carry-on only.

dover.af.mil alternate line: 2 bags at 70 lb or 1 bag not to exceed 100 lb. If that conflicts with the AMC 2×70/62 rule, ask the agent for that tail.

Fees: Not published (no PE head-tax dollar figure) on the AMC Dover HTML page. Do not copy another terminal’s $23.40.

Can I travel with pets from here?

Not published on the AMC Dover page (no pet banner, no kennel rules). Do not assume a cargo C-5/C-17 will take a pet. Call (302) 677-4088 before you travel with an animal. See the AMC Pet Travel page.

Is Dover a Patriot Express terminal?

Not on the AMC page (no 30-day PE icon). Treat it as organic / cargo Space-A unless a future AMC board says otherwise.

Why did I see “24/7” on old writeups?

Stale. AMC banner: 0800–2400 as of 1 Mar 2025. dover.af.mil still showing 0800–1700 is a second conflict — call if your show is after 1700.

What if more than 20 people select on my mission?

You may be carry-on only. Pack a legal carry-on you can live with.

Is there a base shuttle from lodging?

dover.af.mil: no base transportation. Plan a taxi, rental, or walk. Unofficial lodging-shuttle claims are not used here.

Which ZIP do I put on a parking or lodging form?

AMC page 19902 vs workbook/unit page 19901. Use 150 Airlift Ave and ask the desk.

USO Saturday hours 1700 or 1400?

AMC says 0800–1700 UTA weekends only. USO Delaware says 8 a.m.–2 p.m. on UTA weekends. Assume it might close at 1400 unless you confirm.

Can I show at 0700 for an 0800 roll call?

Terminal posted hours start 0800. The AMC page does not say doors open early for roll call (unlike Travis). Call the recording / counter.

Are Europe hops common?

The unit page lists Ramstein and Spangdahlem among primary Space-A destinations, with a warning that cargo seats are limited. That is not this week’s 72-hour board.

Do I need paper orders for duty?

Yes. Duty check-in is at the counters to the right; late = Customer Service, not auto-board.

Pets in the terminal USO?

Not published. Do not assume USO or the hold room is a kennel.

Is (302) 677-4088 the recording?

No. 4088 is the service counter. Recording is (302) 677-2854.

Can I use DSN 312-445-xxxx as a cell number?

No. Do not publish (312) as commercial. Commercial is 302-677-xxxx; DSN recording is 445-2854.
